Sunday Best?

Crowd pleaser!
The Notts Director of Cricket has announced the XI to face the Zidermen via the usual official means, Twitterizing followed by the website.

The team contains no surprises with Adams getting the nod over Franks, Phillips and Carter in that third seamer position. All the batters move one place up the order, in the absence of Tamim Iqbal and/or David Hussey with Graeme White included as an extra bowler or is it as a batter.

On Saturday 06 August Brian Rose, Somerset coach, was still expecting Outlaw England duo, Broad and Swann to feature - what do we read into that discrepancy of opinions?

Could it be Swann in for White and Broad for Fletcher, or all just smoke and mirrors?

The website reckons that nine thousands tickets have been pre-sold, so a five figure attendance is clearly on the cards

Day 3 v Durham LV= Emirates ICG at Chester le Street

Day three is due to start with Durham with a healthy lead and in their second innings are 6/0. Notts will be looking to avoid the number 21 perhaps (in relation to scoreboard partnerships and totals). Showers or rain are forecast for most of today.

Rain started falling at just before 11.00 at CLS.

Michael Di Venuto, who had bruised a finger whilst fielding on Day 2 may not bat in the second innings!

Just 12.2 overs were possible over the whole day with Durham 37/2 and in a quandary - to force a positive result would mean giving Notts a reasonable chance of winning; will they play the long game or try for short term gain?

Hussey and Voges to share the Overseas position

Not many arguments with the Director's view that that is the preferred option.
