  1. Merry Christmas to all Nottsview readers out there.
Had an email of seasons greetings from Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Edgbaston Stadium but nothing from our club(so far, anyway) - I’ve only been a member for over 40 years so that’s a bit ironic you could say ? Perhaps Mick is still squeezing into his Santa Suit ? Also, Restaurant Six must be the only restaurant to close over the festive and new year periods - what’s going on with that one ? Perhaps they can’t find a turkey suitably eminent enough for such an occasion?

    1. I don't think that they breed turkeys small enough or should that be bijou enough.

    1. Nottinghamshire SupporterTuesday, 03 January, 2023

"we" are indifferent as to who wins the Hundred. TR does not represent Nottinghamshire anymore than it represents Leicestershire or Derbyshire. In the past 150 years, cricket has evolved into a colloquial, partizan sport; forcing cricket supporters to revert to support random players vs other random players is going against nature and is inhumane. There ought to be letters written to the Human Rights Commision. In the Victorian era, randoms vs randoms only attracked interest because of gambling. Who are the real dinasaurs in this? Take gambling out of the Hundred equation, what remains? As Delboy Trotter might have said, "who cares, who wins"...

Can I suggest you read the post about the saving of Trent Bridge in 1972. I now realise that that is the period where those working at Trent Bridge formed the belief that Trent Bridge was Notts CCC or was more important than Notts CCC. The club has been tainted ever since.

Notts CCC is the only county on Twitter without its name in its handle @TrentBridge, why is that?

The ECB and those running Notts CCC are out of touch with the fanbase of County Cricket. The revolution that started in 2022 at every county needs to continue to grow. Cricket needs to rid itself of the parasites that have been bleeding the sport dry in the past decades. Those parasites include the organisers of the Hundred competition (not that it's a competition in the true meaning) and the muddled thinking that believed that it was ever wanted in the first place. Happy New Year.

  4. 75 NOT OUT .
A belated Merry Xmas to all on here!
Ref Restaurant 6 being closed at the busiest time of the year . If the average bill is £250 for two punters having a three course meal there with a bottle of wine - then with the increased festive loaded prices the bill would be nearer £400 !!??
    Think about this .
    What is better value ?
A- Full annual Membership of Notts ccc in 2023 ?
B- a nosh up for two in the restaurant in question?
    Puts things in perspective .

  5. Anybody (Micky) hazard a guess as to what’s happened to South Africa’s Test batting top 6 over the last 3 years or so ? I reckon Tom Moores could hold his place amongst that line up, given he could qualify.
We know, on albeit a lesser level from the Notts 3 year championship debacle, it’s hard to replace establishment senior batsman but some of their current performances are barely believable now that Quinton de Kock has made himself unavailable for the side.
Even when they were reintroduced after apartheid and had to fill the side with ageing players like Rice, Peter Kirsten and Brian McMillan, they were still massively competitive in this era.
It’s hard to believe their batting line up contained Smith, Gibbs, Kallis, Amla and deVilliers at differing periods and not too long ago either.
