  1. How can you let our best player, Joe Clarke, end the season of out of contract. Unless a deal had been agreed thats absolute madness

    1. Obviously this season Notts' top priority was to get Tom Moores off this list with a new deal sealed back in March.

Thanks MAG/ DAVE for all the collating of information .
    The lists make fascinating reading
    Question.
Overall - are there more players out of contract end of 2024 than would normally be the case?
It does involve an awful lot players.

    1. A lot of players are on one year contracts or summer contracts like Rob Lord. There's a similar list for 2025 and when you factor in next year's one year deals on top of them, there might be even more names next year. Uncertainty (about one's future) can be either a great motivator or to some, it can be debilitating!
With the uncertainty about the future of cricket: what formats will be played, how many players a county will need etc; player contracts are generally shorter these days.

YES - the days of The General ( P. F.) and Fletch will probably be rarely repeated in the future . One player spending his entire career with the same Club will become a rarity. Too many factors now to consider for both Club and player.

  5. Really can't see any of this list improving
The squad that we already have
    Most are well passed there
sell by date others injury prone and others just not up to the level required
The difference will come from the
    Contingent of overseas signings
& that might be the issue as the clubs income is going to fall off the end of the cliff next season as they lose income
    From nearly 2000 seats
as well as the income from the executive suite
& the Radcliffe road box's money is already tight it will get tighter over the next two years

  6. Lack of members will also have to be taken into account

  7. If Notts are going to be strapped for cash as being reported, they could easily off load the plethora of coaches and some off the back room staff, who spend alot of their time sitting on their arses, or walking round the field of play, trying to look important. It wouldn't make an iota of difference to results on the field, as they are bad anyway.
Start with those on the most dosh, ie Newell and Moores.
These blokes think that throwing a few balls down and attempting to analyse techniques is worth the large sums they receive in return.
They don't know what work is like in the real world.
As Del boy used to say
    "Do us a favour".

  8. You have no chance of change at the top. No pressure on anyone including the players. Total malaise at trent bridge and seeing smug moores at games leaves me quite sad.
