Nottinghamshire Rothesay County Championship Div 1 Fixtures 2025 What's Next?

30/08

It's been a week since Nottinghamshire had a fixture and there's still nine more days before the first of our remaining three Championship matches is due to begin.

Yes last week there were/are MBC play-offs for which our squad didn't reach and next week there are the Blast quarter-finals, which again like most counties, Outlaws failed to reach again.

With only a maximum of four days of Nottinghamshire cricket left at Trent Bridge, we are being told that there is currenty too much cricket and that our HQ has already reached the capacity of matches it can host.

26/06

Only 8 days maximum left at Trent Bridge and it's still June.

10 days with Metro Cup

add 3 T20 Blast games- which are not even half days each.

Remembers there's too much cricket, so it's just not at Trent Bridge in that case!

05/02

There will be a 3 day friendly against Oxford UCCE at the Parks, starting 30th March, the day the clocks go forward.

Shouldn't moan about the fixtures as they're Division 1 fixtures, but a gap from 1st August until 24th September at Trent Bridge as most of our home games will be concluded by the second week of May, isn't great.

The anticipated trip to the seaside at Hove isn't scheduled as we only play Sussex once. At least New Road might have drained by the time we visit New Road next season, in the second week of September.

  1. While I also bemoan the long breaks between red ball cricket...

Spare a thought for red ball cricket watchers in SA, where the is no cricket between 22nd December and 20 March.

  3. From 25th June to 27th September, 3 months/the 2nd half of the season, there are 2, yes 2, Championship home matches !

    1. That’s really a disgrace isn’t it. And what it does sis simply move members k to casual attendees at best. Seems to hit Notts hard this season owing the international matches.

    2. We just got lucky with the weather this year and it wasn't too cold most days. In a different year we could have had rain effected draws with cold, bitter, miserable and resentful members.

    1. Scheduling Championship cricket during August was in 2024 universally proclaimed as a success. Three months later and they have forgotten this and knocked that idea on the head.
