Vitality T20 Blast Fixtures 2025

12/12

How do Derbyshire members feel having another home Blast fixture transported to Edgbaston? This time it's not even being a competition "Blast Off" event, but a mid-competition day dubbed Midlands Mania as though it were WWE or some other tacky US import.

Not only do Derbyshire members lose a home fixture, they also lose a home fixture against close rivals Leicestershire and they also have to share their day in Birmingham with Nottinghamshire who play the headline match against hosts Bears. This all happens just one day after Derbyshire play at Trent Bridge in the East Midlands derby (Pt 2).

Joel Corry is apparently a DJ and TV personality (completely out of my sphere of interests) and following a very brief google, he apparently plays with guns on stage too. Is this a new direction for cricket or just Bears?

Will Lisa ditch the bland DJ Prince Whatever His Name Is to go for someone with a bit of an edge, perhaps a DJ Dr Harold Shipman act might go down well...

... perhaps not with euthanasia looking likely to be the next big thing, it might put some of the Trent Bridge hierarchy off their stroke.

More back to back games, which I thought the PCA and common sense were against.

  1. Just do not care about a match between "Blaze" and "Bears". It is a county competition, why are Nottinghamshire and Warwickshire not using their famous county names ?

    1. Warwickshire have been known as "Birmingham Bears" for about 10 years now in this competition.

    2. Just known as Bears for the last year or so they've dropped the B'ham bit

  2. For the ladies' comp at least, using that respectful term, "ladies", partly to annoy the diversity mafia. I believe in diversity, it is the zealots who force it on people, I dislike intensely.

  3. For the first time since I returned to the UK after working abroad, I'm not renewing my season ticket. All to do with management, nothing to do with the players. For me they don't have to win the bloody thing, just compete. I didn't enjoy the atmosphere last year and the social media/cheerleader BS refusing to face up to problems. I'd had enough by game 6 which meant that I didn't bother going to Warwickshire/Birmingham Bears (delete to your preference). Good job really. ("Nottinghamshire's total is the lowest in their T20 history and the fourth worst in English cricket")

    1. Well said, many of us walking away. Sad, but they have really messed our domestic game up. With it in such a mess, international game will suffer massively. Only slight difference, is I think players have a big share of the blame, particularly top players.

  4. The "County" T20 competition 2025 double header at Edgbaston; and not a county name in sight. As above, Derbyshire (here "Falcons") are having a home match in Birmingham !
Cricket is withering away, in the hands of people who just like money.

  5. I find the Notts management and head coach arrogant and aloof that's why I walked away.
