County Ins and Outs 2025

11/10

Essex announced today that white ball only Adam Rossington and Jamal Richards will be released at the end of the month.

09/10

Notts have announced that they are releasing Dane Schadendorf and Sammy King at the end of their contracts. Neither player was given enough opportunities, let alone a settled run in the first eleven, to show what true potential they had. Dane's departure leaves Notts without a domestic qualified wicketkeeper as Joe Clarke is unable to fulfill the role owing to his back and this season was on and off the field more than the drinks guys, Ben Duckett is never available and Tom Moores went the white ball route (to the relief of his supporters and his critics alike). Even though management appear to have had a blind spot with regards to both of these players, the role of wicketkeeper in the County Championship defence cannot be left to chance and hope that KV will be available for a stint from the start of April through to the end of September and stays fit through-out, so Mr Newell must have someone up his sleeve, surely...

    1. yes 5 seasons after they made a load of replica shirts with his name on for the 2020 season and then had to sell off cheap during 2021, 2022 and might recall them still on the shop's bargain rail in 2023. Mick Newell has become a Canadian Mountie, "he always gets his man"...

    1. We don't but Newell has gone record saying that he wants us to have stronger batting line-up right down to number 11. He still hasn't recruited an overseas bowler for the kookkaburra matches in June and July.

  17. Matt the latest in a long line of talented youngsters Notts have nurtured, then let go to other counties. Will the 2 lads who made the runs to get us that incredible tie be released to elsewhere in a year or two ? No ? Witha heavy heart, I cannot say it won't happen.

    1. Apart from Monty, you mean Richard?
Nothing has been announced yet, but I'd expect them to bury news of any other departures this week. Already the door on any Alex Hales return will be firmly shut, as he's getting a presentation on Friday.

Schadey and Sammy must be in the frame - they were left out of the 2s friendly last week in Leeds.
