Raining wickets for Andre

The reigning MVP showed why he really is the long-lost illegitimate brother of Clark Kent; not for the first time Notts' meagre first innings was made to appear mountain-like to climb as Lancashire failed to reach the summit and the visitors stole a first innings lead of 23 runs.

On a day where in the southern half of the country, the drought continued to be decidedly wet, wickets were raining for Andre Adams in Manchester.

Lancashire First Innings 146

Stephen Moore 43
Paul Horton 24
Ashwell Price 23

Andre Adams 7/32
Graeme Swann 3/26

Nottinghamshire Second Innings 122/2 at stumps

Michael Lumb 40 not out
Neil Edwards 40

At Scarborough, Yorkshire were bullying light-weight Leicestershire; after posting 447 the host then bowled the Foxes out for 116. Following-on the visitors closed on 3/1.

Taught a lesson

The students of Leeds Bradford MCCU gave a juvenile-looking Sussex a severe beating, spanking them out for 58 and 176, winning by 79 runs.

10 wickets in the game for Luis Reece, Lancashire 2nds and Unicorn.

Newsflash

Somerset have signed former Notts 2nd XI and Lancashire  Faf du Plessis for the T20 competition.
