ReplyDeleteRags, possibly a young Graeme Archer, then struggling.....Richard Hodgkinson and Mark Fell?, it's a good teaser, I'm trying to look at the kit to determine what era they played in
ReplyDeleteYou have 2 correct
ReplyDeleteNoel Gie Bobby Chapman Derek Randall Greg Rutherford
ReplyDeleteYou too have 2 correct. Greg Rutherford - the jumping guy? No not him!
DeleteSo thanks to Simon L, then, Rags, Graeme Archer&Bobby Chapman plus one remaining mystery player?
ReplyDeleteClue: The missing name player played in the 90s
ReplyDeleteGetting desperate now, what about Giles Haywood or Ashley Metcalfe, although I'm pretty certain it's neither !!!!!!
ReplyDeleteClue 2: Played List A for Notts.
DeleteMark Broadhurst?
ReplyDeleteNo Stoney
ReplyDeleteClue 3: Was a red rose but his name suggests he should have been a white rose, perhaps.
So then........from Lanky, played List A in the 90s.......was he a signing Alan Ormrod made in his time as club coach?
ReplyDeleteNope. Clue 4 Pre Ormrod as coach so therefore before the middle that is Mark Wells.
DeleteThat's made it..................worse Harry!!!!!!!!!!! The incumbent is pictured in the Notts squad team photos on the back row...........but, the good ol website doesn't say who he is
ReplyDeleteClue 5: After the Meadow's fire yesterday, only a sharp one will give a clue to his name.
DeleteYou seem to have over looked the big giveaway part in clue 4 btw
He was actually signed by Mike Hendrick. IF you are still stumped by this former Red Rose, another clue he will still playing club cricket for Timperley in the Cheshire County League as recently as 2014. As you know he playing minor counties for Cheshire. His Notts number is 518 and he made his first class debut for Notts in the same match as Graeme Archer
DeleteStill stumped Stoney?
ReplyDeleteSteven Bramhall is the missing answer I believe.

Well done, Curator. I really do not think I would have got that, my last attempt would have been Pascal Broadley. Having now read up about him, I can recall him now, however. A good little teaser, a bit like being hit on the toe by a Waqar Younis yorker and Harry's clues are terrible!!!!!!!!!!!
DeleteThanks, but I'd call them cryptic.
DeleteWell done Curator. I'll have to make an easier one for Stoney, next time.
ReplyDeleteStoney lost 3 days of his life trying to piece through players he's seen down the years from about nineteen seventy eight onwards..............
ReplyDeleteHope you enjoyed it nevertheless
DeleteYes, indeed I did Harry and I look forward to the next one. Keep up the good work for us fans out there.
