Congratulations Jake Ball

England have included uncapped James Vince and Jake Ball in a twelve man squad to face Sri Lanka at Headingley, next Thursday.

Alex Hales, as predicted has retained his position.

Squad: AN Cook (captain), MM Ali, JM Anderson, JM Bairstow, JT Ball, SCJ Broad, NRD Compton, ST Finn, AD Hales, JE Root, BA Stokes, JM Vince.

On paper it looks like twelfth man duties will be performed by either Jake Ball or Steve Finn.

This season the stats favour Jake Ball with 19 wickets at 21.16 whereas Finn has 12 wickets at 33.42.

Should Ball get the nod, Notts' T20 plans for next Friday's opener against Bears, will need a re-jig, probably opening a welcoming  door for Luke Fletcher following his month of hard labour at Derby.
