Here is an eleven: The Mick Newell Frustrating Eleven
Neil Edwards
Will Jefferson
Matt Wood
Greg Smith
Brendan Taylor (Wicketkeeper and Captain) - frustratingly has the ability but isn't producing the goods.
Will Gidman
Ben Phillips
Simon Francis
Jackson Bird (Overseas)
Rob Ferley
Jason Brown
Who would you select?
Paul Strang and Russell Warren
ReplyDeleteAjmal Shahzad
ReplyDeleteFor Outlaws in the one day stuff he wasn't that bad and at least he would value his own wicket in the Championship. As a wicket taking bowler, he was pants (for Notts).
DeleteAnurag Singh, Russell Warren, David Alleyne, Ajmal Shahzad, Graeme White and don't forget Scott Newman on loan from Surrey. The list of "great" signings is seemingly endless
ReplyDeleteHow about a list of classic Mick decisions to let players go? I'll start with Gallian, Sidebottom, and Foottit, surely there must be more? Let's hope Tom Moores is not added to this list
ReplyDeleteTom Moores does appear to be a real prospect. Only a fool would voluntarily let him go to another county unless he believes Notts possess an even better prospect already - Tom Keast? Mick should recall Moores and having playing against Hampshire as a batsman.
DeleteI think that while nobody can doubt Desperate Dan's ability with the bat, his T20 bowling figures deserve a wider audience.

Yes he seems to like to bowl himself in over 5 or 6 and gets punished more often than not.
DeleteWill try a best of his time, so far team but can see that his signings vary from the online to less so. These are players who all played or do play for Notts in the age of MN
