Notts Injury Roll 2018

14/09/18

Zak Chappell hasn't bowled in the Championship since July and hasn't played a game since being substituted for concussion, whilst batting, for a month.

We'll see how much he plays next season eh!

11/09/18

Stuart Broad has broken a rib

09/09/18

Harry Gurney injured during the game against Yorkshire, remains injured for the Essex game but Luke Fletcher returns recovered.

No word on Matt Carter and his illnes...

04/09/18

Mullaney and Footitt returned to fitness but Luke Fletcher has joined the queue outside the physio's door.

01/09/18

Mick Newell let the cat out of the bag on Radio Nottingham on Saturday, announcing that new signing Ben Duckett is currently injured but there's just a hope to get him involved and integrated into the squad over the remaining three matches.

29/08/18
Sick notes

In addition to Nash' injury, the Notts website also states both Steven Mullaney and Mark Footitt (who took 4 wickets only yesterday without apparent concern) are also injured whilst Matt Carter is absent ill.

28/08/18
Chris Nash requires shoulder surgery and will miss the rest of the season also

.

24/08/18

Jake Ball will miss the rest of the season with a back injury.

12/08/18

Tom Moores required a runner during his knock at Worcester.

On a more optimistic note, Paul Coughlin and Chris Nash are both playing for the Seconds at Lady Bay today. Matt Carter, Luke Wood, Will Fraine, Matt Milnes and Mark Footitt are also playing.

06/08/18

Paul Coughlin returned to bowling today at Lady Bay for the Seconds against Northants in SEC game

03/08/18

Jake Ball pulled-out of last night's game after bowling just 7 deliveries with a possible side strain. Jake has however been included in the preliminary squad for the increasingly important game with Rapids.

02/08/18

Paul Couglin returns to the Outlaws' squad for the game against Derbyshire whilst it is reported that Chris Nash will be out for a further two weeks with his right AC injury.

16/07/18
Obviously not firing on all cylinders yet (not ready to bowl and not batting with a full-blooded swing yet), Paul Coughlin has been given a rest from his rehabilitation and is being left out of the side to play Durham Jets tomorrow.

12/07/18

In spite of all of the mollycoddling that England players get, Alex Hales has dropped out of the ODI at Trent Bridge with a side injury. It was later confirmed that Hales is likely to be sidelined for 3 to 4 weeks, missing the entire ODI series with India. On that time scale, Hales could make his only T20 Blast appearance of the season, at Trent Bridge, against Yorkshire and then play away at Worcester and again away against Yorkshire.

05/07/18

Chris Nash will miss at least the next two VT20 Blast games because damage he sustained to his right acromioclavicular (AC) joint, whilst dropping a catch from Adam Hose last night.

28/06/18
Tom Moores again injured, hit by a Luke Fletcher delivery. Stuart Broad picked-up a manageable ankle injury on Day 4 verses Worcestershire.

24/06/18

A quick recovery for young Moores, in the line-up to play Monday's Day Nighter: Mark Footitt nor Luke Wood make the squad...

22/06/18

Tom Moores batted with a runner on Day 3 at Chelmsford after twisting his ankle; he is expected to have a more thorough assessment on Saturday (Day 4). Notts had Riki Wessels and then Tom Keast deputising behind the sticks during Essex's second innings..

20/06/18

Will Fraine captained Durham MCCU to victory today over their Loughborough counterparts

Andy reports that according to Double-corset, Paul Coughlin has been batting in the nets but not bowling yet.
10/06/18

If any of Messs Wood, Footitt and Gurney were fit again, one of them would be playing at Taunton, surely

05/06/18

Another England shaped torpedo has hit Nottinghamshire mid-ships.

Because of injury to Chris Woakes, Jake Ball now joins Alex Hales in the England ODI squad to face Australia.

It's great for Jake, great for Trent Bridge marketing but not so great for Nottinghamshire on their travels to Taunton and Chelmsford. Not forgetting any potential One Day Cup play off games. The series verses the Australians starts 13th June , a day after the scheduled end of the Taunton CC1 game and extends until 24th June, a day before the Day/Night CC1 game at Trent Bridge against the Pears.

01/06/18

Will Fraine has also picked-up an injury (cheers Dan)

Harry Gurney is being "looked after" and won't play in either of the remaining One Day Cup group matches.
31/05/18

Tom Keast missed today's SET game with tonsillitis

28/05/18

Some good news (for either Notts or Derbyshire), Mark Footitt is seemingly recovered from his side strain and is playing for the Seconds today.

To add a downer however, Ben Kitt only managed to bowl one ball before pulling up incapacitated

27/05/18

Harry Gurney has a calf strain. That's Gurney, Luke Wood, Paul Coughlin and Mark Footitt all unavailable.

15/05/18

On loan Mark Footitt is current out of the Derbyshire team with a side injury.

11/05/18

Luke Wood hopes to be available for selection next month and Steven Mullaney is back bowling in the Lancashire game.

03/05/18

On the back of Mark Footitt's farming off to Derby, it has been declared that another Notts left arm quick won't be available for the immediate future, this time through an ankle injury, Luke Wood the unlucky bowler.

20/04/18

Steven Mullaney has a side strain which prevents him bowling

05/04/18

Tom Moores returned as expected but Chris Nash was held back from playing for Notts for the first time in this country after being struck on the thumb in the nets. As "precaution" Nash won't take part in the Leicester proceedings.

03/04/18

Tom Moores is expected to play, if there is any, in the 2 day friendly at Leicester, starting Thursday, meanwhile Team England have made Stuart Broad unavailable to play in Nottinghamshire fixtures until 27/04, missing the first couple of Championship matches.

31/03/18

Tom Moores will miss the first game of the season with a foot injury.

26/03/18

Coughlin will be out for at least 4 months.

19/03/18

After being assesed, Coughlin has been booked-in for surgery on Wednesday.(21/03) Hopefully he will be fully rehabilitated ready and rearing to go for the September run-in.

So what's plan B Notts?

12 March

With everyone else fit again (Ross Taylor ??), new boy Paul Coughlin has dislocated his right shoulder whilst playing for the Lions in Barbados, won't now represent the North next week and will be assessed on his return to England.

  1. I understand there's a promising lad now at Northants, perhaps we could get him in on loan - Brett Hutton's his name I think!

  2. Absolutely gutted to be missing start of the season with @TrentBridge . Over the moon with the support from a new club, and look forward to getting started with rehab.

  3. Well doing away with these ‘Micky mouse’ so called winter performance programmes, Lions series and North v South series would be a good start! Just our luck Mull will come back in plaster!

  4. What is the situation with Ross Taylor, is it just a short term injury, he missed last ODI and is a doubt for 1st Test. But re Notts, not sure what this means

    1. If he's going to be missing, even for one game, we'll need a replacement overseas or someone from Team Kolpak, because we're seriously light on batsmen ATM
