Circus News III

Not before time Harry Gurney gets a game for Kolkata Knightriders, and he delivered to goods 4-0-25-2 including Jos Buttler's scalp. KK went on to win the game.

The big top has been pulled-up this time in India for the IPL. Yesterday Harri Gurnai kept his feet-up as he was non-selected by Calcutta - maybe circumstances will be more favourable next game - just cash the cheque Hari.

The must win at any cost mentality has risen early in this year's show, when today Jos Buttler was run out by Ravi Ashwin, whilst being the non-striker, backing-up (Mankadding). Reportedly no warning was given, so a bad play by Captain Ashwin. A decision that has widely been condemned by the English and Australian media.

Dan Christian isn't faring so wel lafter 7 innings, only averaging 13.8, for Sultans. Tom Moores has played just 3 games for Sultans, scoring a total of 10 runs and taking no dismissals.

Harry Gurney, Twitter-hand-grenade lobber, played once for Gladiators.

Samit Patel played 8 times for United, taking 4 wickets in total (from  spells). Batting in the lower order, Samit made two scores of note, 20 and 45*

22/02/19

Islamabad United bagged a win with a fifty from new recruit Ian Bell - Samit Patel (5) batted at number 9 in the 1 wicket win

Sultans failed to defend 200 against Lahore Qalandars, whose David Wiese hit 5 sixes in a 20 ball 45* to see his team home. DC did ok batting with 10 ball 21 but only bowled 1 over for 10 runs.

20/02/19

No place for Tom Moores now with the Sultans have DC and Russ to add to Laurie Evans and James Vince as their overseas wage packets.

Sultans still lost, to Gladiators.

The Outlaws' baton passes to Samit Patel and Tom Moores, playing in the PSL.

Former Kolpak Outlaw Brendan Taylor, trying to scratch a living again after ZC again failed to deliver the financial backing to reward the returning senior pros, playing for Lahore Qalandars isn't getting an abundance of runs so far (2, 13, 1) and scorecards suggest he's playing as wicketkeeper.

Samit Patel, Islamabad United, has been Mr Economical with returns so far of 4-0-20-0 and 3-0-15-1.

Tom Moores is in dire straits, playing or not for the Multan Sultans (of swing), just scoring 1 in their opener.
