Seconds v Glamorgan 2nd XI 1-day Friendly at Lady Bay

NP Matt Davies 15/04/19

Alex Hales describes Peter Moores as the best in the business.

Just about every new signing cites him as a leading reason for joining Nottinghamshire.

In fact, speak to any player at Trent Bridge and they will laud praise on the former England coach, not because they want to get picked, but because they genuinely admire him.

"With regards to white ball cricket, having a relaxed, positive environment to train and play in is one of the most important things to bring the best out of players and a team," Hales said.

"He is an absolute master at remaining calm no matter the situation and always encouraging players to be positive."

Lady Bay hosts a friendly one day game between Notts Seconds and Glamorgan Seconds, idea timing for some white ball adjustments ahead of the start of the one day cup on Friday, nah don't be daft here's the squad:

LW James*
LA Patterson-White
JD Libby
SG Budinger
CF Gibson
M Carter
JM Blatherwick
JD Cook
SJW Hall†
IS Jandu
NJH Kimber
Q Haider

At least Matt Carter is included and also Jack Blatherwick who played in part of last year's Cup competition but no sign of the scarlet pimpernel, Alex Hales, who we all have high expectations of, ahead of the World Cup.

latest score Notts 134-3 after 25 overs Jake Libby 60*

It was Chris Gibson who introduced more impetus to the innings and with Libby they took the score to 274 before Jake Libby was out for 105 (eleven 4s one 6) in 42nd over. Wickets tumbled as the runs were pushed and Notts were eventually all out for 339. Chris Gibson made 136 (99 balls, 15 4s and 5 6s).

Glamorgan at half way 125-2
