T20 Wins for Seconds at Grace Road

Philip Measures reports:

I don't know if I was the only Notts supporter at Grace Road today for the 2 T20 Second 11 Matches - certainly no more than 5 of us, I guess but NOTTS WON BOTH MATCHES!!!

Superb 71 not out off just 35 balls by Budinger in the first Match. I am not convinced yet about Patterson-White. Matt Carter bowled well and it is clear that Jake Libby has a good style of batting - I just wish that he could regain the form of a couple of Seasons ago.

Under Paul Franks it seemed that there was an excellent spirit today and it was reassuring in speaking with Paul that the Coaches are really committed to making things work and re-establishing a new and younger Side to take us forward into the future, having said that Luke Fletcher is a really motivational example.

So perhaps relegation won't be the doom and gloom we might fear but provide the incentive for Notts to rise from the 'ashes' next Season - but, who knows, Houdini may yet surprise us all!!!

  1. Relegation looks to be more of a foregone conclusion as the weeks go by.

Having said it may well turn out to be a blessing in disguise.

Over the last few seasons Notts CC results have been to put it kindly, Poor! Perhaps they need a spell away from the constant spectre of relegation so they can rebuild the team properly.

The team certainly has the ability on paper, You only have to look at the pundits pre season predictions to see our others view us.

PF is one coach I have not mentioned in previous comments about the coaches and management, He certainly comes across well and is clearly Notts through and through.

My problem is more with the top of the tree, Why do we need a DoC ? Seems to me it's not really a real job, There seems precious little to do,Surely the money could be spent better elsewhere, Like on a top bowling coach...
