Ben Compton signs One Year Deal



Ben Compton has signed a one year deal with Notts after showing some promise for the Seconds and in the two games at the end of the road crash of the Championship campaign in 2019.

  1. An experienced player who did well in several Matches last Season for the 2nd 11's - he avoids the White Ball mentality and can put decent Innings together - well-suited to the 4-day game and I hope that he does well. He comes from a good pedigree!

  3. Compton has represented Natal Under-15s. He played for Wimbledon in Surrey League for three seasons between 2013 and 2015 playing 36 matches scoring 1360 runs @56.66. He subsequently joined Richmond in the Middlesex League where in the last four seasons he has scored 2572 runs @46.76. In 2015 he appeared in Second Eleven championship for Hampshire and MCC Young Cricketers. Two years later he made a single appearance for Durham Seconds. Compton made eight in a single appearance for Notts Seconds in 2018, an innings victory over Glamorgan at Sophia Gardens in a friendly fixture. In 2019 he appeared nine Second XI championship, six Second XI T20 and five Second XI Trophy matches for Kent and Notts with his record in each competition being 694 runs @63.09, 112 runs @37.33 and 165 runs @55.00 respectively. Including friendly fixtures he appeared in six matches for Notts Twos last season scoring 352 runs @58.66 including 134* in a 3-day friendly at Northampton.

  5. Didn't score many runs but showed that he could occupy the crease unlike some of our "Flash Harrys"
