  2. Lucky enough to see him bat for Notts in the 60's where he opened with the portly Norman Hill, if my memory serves me well.
    He also shared the field with the great Sir Garfield.
    It was a pity for him, that Notts had such a poor side during the majority of his time at Trent Bridge.

    1. It was obviously a different era of cricket where the Notts team comprised of a large number of players who had struggled to make an impact at their previous counties. Bolus, Smedley and Mike Taylor were decent players, along with Deryck Murray, before he joined Warwickshire.
      Poor management decisions have resulted in our present debacle.
      They were good honest players back in the 60's . Our current generation give the impression that they are more bothered about the size of their pay packets. How sport has changed.
      To answer your question,I dont think there is much to choose between the team back then, and the one now.
