Not always totally serious and by fans for the fans of Notts Outlaws and Nottinghamshire CCC. Why not contribute yourself; write a review, article, photographs, statistics or to have a whine. Contact methods are shown above. Publication does not necessarily mean agreement with comments, but if it makes just one person smile then it can't all be bad. No offence is ever intended, just a smile. Words are just opinions and not certified facts.

We have lost a very good man
ReplyDeleteRest In Peace Bolo x
Lucky enough to see him bat for Notts in the 60's where he opened with the portly Norman Hill, if my memory serves me well.
ReplyDeleteHe also shared the field with the great Sir Garfield.
It was a pity for him, that Notts had such a poor side during the majority of his time at Trent Bridge.
As poor as this red ball outfit Mark would you say, or even poorer(if that were possible)
ReplyDeleteIt was obviously a different era of cricket where the Notts team comprised of a large number of players who had struggled to make an impact at their previous counties. Bolus, Smedley and Mike Taylor were decent players, along with Deryck Murray, before he joined Warwickshire.
DeletePoor management decisions have resulted in our present debacle.
They were good honest players back in the 60's . Our current generation give the impression that they are more bothered about the size of their pay packets. How sport has changed.
To answer your question,I dont think there is much to choose between the team back then, and the one now.
