Loanwatch 2025

08/06

Sussex to Derbyshire

Fynn Hudson-Prentice returns to his former employers for four Blast matches initially.

09/05

Nottinghamshire to Sussex

Inspite of being named in the Notts squad for today's game,
again inspite of Notts being in a amist of a seam bowler injury near-crisis themselves,
and also  inspite of Sussex being in the same division as Notts, James Hayes has gone to his county of birth on loan as cover for the the injured Jayden Seales.

James scored 33* on debut today

02/05

Nottinghamshire to Northamptonshire

Calvin Harrison extends his spell in Div 2 with two more rounds of Championship.

Jack Blatherwick on a 14 day loan

Jake Ball for the next two rounds of Championship cricket.

10/04

Hampshire to Lancashire

Hampshire's highly rated seam bowler John Turner is spending the next 14 days with Lancashire. Lancashire is generally regarded as production-line for producing seam bowlers, so it seems a odds that they'd chose to cover the absences of Saqib Mahmood and James Anderson from an external source, as highly rated or not as Turner is.

25/05

Somerset to Nottinghamshire

In 2022 Nottinghamshire was a loaner-out of bowlers to other counties, but in 2023 through a combination of bad luck with injuries, poor decision making with signing players with a sick note history and a player pathway that is usually padlocked shut,  Notts appear to be begging for bowlers again, anyone from anywhere. The latest player at a loose end looking for a gig is Mr Headband himself, Jack Brooks who comes with bags of experience (some of it useful), being 38 years old. Who do you think you are kidding Mr Moores?

Jack will be with us for two weeks also.

Peter Moores says, "“Both him (Jack) and Conor each bring something unique, hence the reason we’ve bought them in."

What do they bring that is unique Peter?

24/05

Surrey to Nottinghamshire

Conor McKerr to cover the absence of Jake Ball, Olly Stone,  Luke Fletcher and Brett Hutton. More boots to fill than a High Street shoe shop. Loan period, two weeks, so Conor could play up 8 matches (?), more than half the group games!

Warwickshire to Sussex

Michael Burgess will return to the south coast for the duration of the Vitality T20 Blast competition.

  1. I'm really not sure the loan signing of Brooks makes any sense.

  2. If Pettman, is fit, then why is he being overlooked and also why bother having him in the Notts squad, if you aren't going to pick him? Brookes was passed his sell by date 2 years ago, like Trego when we signed him, and will be an unnecessarily extra cost to the club, that they can easily avoid.
Another example, I'm afraid of why our young players opt for pastures new, under this management.

  3. The player pathway gate is padlocked,

  4. If you're playing Patterson-White, you're unlikely to also pick Singh. Singh didn't play any games last season, so sending him on loan to play instead repeating last year makes sense.

  5. NPF. One win and everything rosy? Moores newell out. Bad management yet again

  6. Didn't say that. I said it was better for him to go loan and play than stay at Notts and not play in another ODC campaign.
