A World of Cricket

Australia, as expected, secured the series win against India. India surpassed some previous dismal displays with a new nadir; India lost their last four wickets in the space of eight deliveries - not the fighting displayed called for by their worldwide supporters. Is it time for India's Old Guard to march off into the sunset?

The winning margin this time was only by an innings and 37 runs, mainly thanks to the bowling of Umesh Yadav, who restricted Australia to less than 400 and remained the not out batsman at the close of the game.

A double whammy for India as MS Dhoni will be banned from the Adelaide Test because of a slow over rate during the Perth Test.

South Africa beat Sri Lanka again; just a fifty for Amla this time as the Proteas won by 5 wickets.

Auckland beat Otago in a HRV T20 match at Dunedin's University Oval. Resting Andre Adams (?) Aces won by 8 wickets with 14 balls to spare. Fifties for the victorious side's Guptill and Azhar Mahmood.

Stuart Broad today managed to cause an injury scare, after being hit on the foot by the ball in training in Dubai. BBC says it's just bruising and he'll be ok but Sky have it that it's an ankle injury and that he remains a doubt to play on Tuesday........................... that'll keep the rolling 24 hour sports news going with a bit of drama and suspense until the football kicks off this afternoon!

Gloucestershire have also announced that their planning proposals for Nevill Road, Bristol have been rejected by Bristol City Council which could force the club to switch the location of its HQ.

An offer from Gloucester City Council to develop the Old Wagon Works site at Tuffley, Gloucester remains a possible option for the club to move to.
