As the England senior XI were crumbling to a not unexpected defeat in Dubai, having three games to come to terms with completely alien wickets and bowlers using the flawed DRS to their own advantage but failing badly with both; in Sri Lanka the Lions team were romping to a series win against SLA.


Again using Patel as a make-do opener, a tactic that failed this time around but also worked as the regular opener came in at 3 and scored a match winning ton - Joe Root. Jos Buttler added some icing to the spectacle with a 30 ball 64 which included 5 sixes and 5 fours.


In reply Sri Lanks A were crushed by scoreboard pressure, losing wickets whilst maintaining the necessary rate.
