Patto back in action

Sunday

England's Ladies suffered their only defeat of the WT20, in the final to Australia by 4 runs.

Darren Pattinson 2/29 helped Victoria bushwhack Queensland by 190 runs in a domestic fifty over match in Brisbane. Centuries by Quiney and Finch contributed to the Bushrangers cause who racked-up 379/2 in their knock.

Friday

Ben Phillips extends his contract by one season; to think we could have had Ryan Sidebottom instead! Sid is still playing, 3 years after Notts declined him a 3 year contract. I know where I'd had put my money!

The nature of T20 cricket came to the fore today when Chris Gayle took the West Indies to the final of the WT20 by wiping Australia aside.

Thursday

Who said.......................

"It was an error of judgement on my part that will cost me dearly and I

would like it to be a lesson to all others in sports elsewhere"

was it KP on receiving his new trial contract or was it AR when he got off with just a 12 week ban for smoking cannabis at Taunton ......................... that place has history?

Time heals all wounds. As most video game designers will tell you.

Happy Birthday Adam Voges
Wednesday

Everyone's favourite person to hate, KP, has had his apology accepted by the ECB and has been given a 4 month contract to prove himself and to re-establish trust with the England squad.

Tuesday

Victoria thrashed WA as Adam Voges' indifferent form continues, by 10 wickets.

AV 39,1 whilst Pattinson the younger took 7 wickets in the match, recovering from his injury.

A first innings ton by Andy McDonald took the advantage for Victoria on day 1/2 which they then kept.

Samit Patel, England's incrementally contracted player, has signed a new 3 year deal at Trent Bridge.

Abdur Rehman  failed a dope test during his latest stint at Taunton - positive result for a recreational substance from the banned list can result in a 2 year suspension.

Liam Plunkett has joined Yorkshire on a 3 year deal. Plunkett is currently serving a 40 month driving ban for a second drink driving offence.

Monday

A "not quite good enough"................ (Stuart Broad) England were dumped out of the WT20 by hosts Sri Lanka by 19 runs despite 67 from Samit Patel and 34 from Graeme Swann. Malinga 5/31

Sunday

Translating the odd Twitter message to "@be" this morning..................................... from @TrentBridge

Happy 38th Birthday to Ben Phillips aka @bennyphil13
