v Worcestershire Rapids at New Road

  • Delayed start at New Road after rain
  • At six o'clock it was raining.
  • The rain only worsened and after seven o'clock the match was abandoned.

Outlaws have one additional injury worry prior to this game, Alex Hales; luckily James Franklin is around to slide-into a number of different roles if necessary, including at the top of the order.

Sidelined at present: Michael Lumb, Jake Ball, Andy Carter, Alex Hales and Stuart Broad (otherwise engaged).

Hales has an, as yet, undefined injury but was seen to hold his shoulder whilst fielding on Day 3 against Somerset.

Jake Ball played in the Trophy defeat for the 2nds on Monday but didn't play in the corresponding Championship match.

Michael Lumb is two weeks into his 4 weeks of rest for his injured arm and has been seen running around Trent Bridge this week.

Stuart Broad, England's T20 captain, doesn't play domestic T20 any more - you work out the logic because I can't see much sense in the policy. England's T20 centrally contracted players already look pretty green and inexperienced at T20 in comparison to other nations' players and then are denied practising their art when the opportunity arises.

Andy Carter is out for the rest of the season, again.

The only fit eleven apart from Andre Adams are:

Phil Jaques
James Franklin
Riki Wessels
Samit Patel
James Taylor
Chris Read
Steven Mullaney
Sam Wood
Luke Fletcher
Ajmal Shahzad
Harry Gurney

+ Jake Ball and Alex Hales

Rapids have announced this squad for the game:
Mitchell,
Oliver,
Kohler-Cadmore  - aka Pepsi,
Munro,
Kervezee,
Whiteley,
Cox,
 D'Oliveira,
Shantry,
 Ajmal,
Russell,
 Andrew.
This is the same eleven that easily beat Bears, plus Gareth Andrew and if memory serves....., the same eleven that beat Outlaws earlier in the series.
