4/18 by Andy Tye sealed Perth Scorchers place in the final as they beat Melbourne Stars by 18 runs at the WACA
Michael Carberry 50 had helped Scorchers reached the ultimately-defendable 144/7 but it was the bowlers that won it for the home side.

The first Semi Final saw Sydney Sixers take on Adelaide Strikers at Adelaide.
Sixers unleashed their new opening partnership, the regular Michael Lumb (32) but this time with Riki Wessels (24). The pair put on 41 before Lumb was run out in the fifth over. By the time Wessels was out , the platform was set and Nic Maddinson (85) made full use taking the score to 181/4
After some champagne bowling from Bollinger, Strikers struck out for 94 in front of over 52 thousand, the biggest crowd there since Harold Larwood drew them in.
21/01/15
Perth Scorchers must have felt that they had scored enough runs to defend when they hit 179/2, the second wicket only falling off the last ball. They must have sensed victory when they had reduced Melbourne Stars to 28/3 at the MCG, with both Luke Wright and KP (Golden Duck) back in the pavilion. However Peter Handscomb had other ideas. A 64 ball 103* led Stars to victory by 3 wickets.

A Travis Head 71 helped Adelaide Strikers to a 22 run win at Docklands against Melbourne Renegades.
17/01/15
At the Sydney Showground, Thunder were quietened to the tone of 106/8 by Melbourne Stars. Stars made light work, through the power play, of their target, only losing Luke Wright cheaply and by the 10th over had reached 55/2, KP on 55*.
15/01/15
A 18 ball fifty from Chris Lynn was enough to launch Brisbane Heat to a 198/6 which led to a 18 run win against Hobart Hurricanes, putting them out of the semi final position (as the competition enters its latter stages ) in the process. On a Nottinghamshire note, soon to be Outlaw, Ben Hilfenhaus posted a 31 ball 38* chasing a lost cause.
14/01/15
Adelaide Strikers grabbed a home semi final as Johan Botha clubbed Strikers' score beyond Sydney Sixers' reach.
Michael Lumb 17, Riki Wessels 15 - both keeping their powder dry for semi final fireworks, perhaps.

The crowd at the Etihad were short changed when Brisbane Heat were rapidly cooled for 80 against Melbourne Renegades. Architect of Heat demise was Shakib al Hasan 4/13, Peter Siddle 0/21. Renegades lost early wickets but steadied to 81/5 in 14 overs.

Two games today with wins for Sydney Sixers by six wickets, Lumb 25, Wessels 28 against Brisbane Heat, Flintoff 46 and.......
Perth Scorchers by 18 runs over Hobart Hurricanes.
10/01/15
Melbourne derby-day, again at the MCG, Renegades made a meagre 153/6 and then only thanks to Matt Wade's 71.
Stars lost wickets early but a century stand off 70 balls by Maxwell and Pietersen put them back on track and despite the clatter of late wickets and a stellar Rimmington last over that saw 2 run outs, Stars scrambled home off the last ball for a 3 wicket win.
09/01/15
A frugal 1/9 from 3 overs by Ben Hilfenhaus helped Hobart Hurricanes quieten Sydney Thunder to 77/7 from 17 overs. Hurricanes blew to their target with 84/5 inside 14 overs.

Michael Carberry plundered a rapid 77* to wash away Brisbane Heat's hoped of defending a modest 134/7. Perth Scorchers won by 8 wickets with 25 balls to spare.

Stephen Parry has joined Brisbane Heat, uniting with Freddie Flintoff, as cover for Dan Vettori who joins New Zealand's World Cup squad.

Adelaide Strikers must be disappointed after failing to chase down 134 set by Perth Scorchers, a target largely down to Adam Voges 54*. Scorchers' Brad Hogg with very respectable figures of 4-0-11-2 helped see that Strikers only got to 115 with all the bowlers chipping-in with wickets.
05/01/15
James Falkner helped steal a super-over victory for Melbourne Stars after Sydney Sixers almost defended a mediocre 150/6 (Michael Lumb 80); Stars 150/4 (KP 54). Falkner's two maximums propelled Stars to 19/0 in their over but with the loss of Maddison ball 2, there was no coming back for Sixers and with Henriques out ball 5; Lumb was left with 4*.

04/01/15
A professional, yet brutal, innings of 57* by Travis Head was enough for Adelaide Strikers to beat Brisbane Heat by 5 wickets after Heat were restricted to 152/6 at the Gabba.
03/01/15
Melbourne Stars had shooting star-t, racing away from Melbourne rivals Renegades only to be pegged back mid-innings. A late flurry saw Stars shine through to 169/6.
Luke Wright 39, KP 25 and Tommy Triffit 22*: Dwayne Bravo 3/22
Early on, Renegades 13/4 with two wickets each for Beer and Bird............ I'm sure there was a funny 70s-style one liner there.
The Renegade decline continued with a stellar bowling display by Stars.
Renegades were all out for a record BBL low of 57. Highest scorers - Tom Cooper and extras with 10
02/01/15
In an incredible display of six hitting by both sides; Brisbane Heat posted 208/6 only to see hosts Hobart Hurricanes surpass that after 19 overs with 6 wickets to spare.

HAPPY NEW YEAR
Perth Scorchers failed to chase down 180 set by Sydney Thunder, being restricted by the bowling of Lalor and Jacques Kallis 2/24 who had earlier scored 70. Thunder won by 20 runs.
31/12/14
Alex Hales (29) was again on the losing side as Hobart Hurricanes were bowled out by Adelaide Strikers' Shaun Tait 3/22 for 136. Strikers made light work of their target, winning by 8 wickets and with 33 balls to spare.
30/12/14
A below par score of 114/6 was all Sydney Thunder could muster after again losing Mike Hussey and Jacques Kallis cheaply and only have Daniel Hughes' 40* to thank for avoiding Sixers' new record low.
Aaron Finch's 48 ensured Melbourne Renegades had no problems chasing their modest target, which they reached in the 14th over with 8 wickets the margin of ease.
29/12/14
Perth Scorchers 135/7 beat Sydney Sixers 99 all out by 36 runs. This defeat at SCG last night was a sweet victory for skipper Adam Voges and his Big Bash champions from Western Australia . Another sunny day here was followed by a warm but breezy evening at the SCG. The ground is looking terrific all set for the 4th Test between Australia and India and the World Cup.
Perth's Marcus Harris played an assertive knock as opener and turned out to be the highest scorer of the evening with a useful 36 from 26 balls. Brett Lee bowled with his customary aggression whilst Mitchell Starc was the pick of the hosts' bowling. He bowled Ashton Agar for a duck with an excellent delivery. Agar meanwhile had a mare combining his batting nought with a poor effort with the ball going for 21 in 2 overs before being withdrawn by Voges. The young player looks a pale shadow of the player who starred at Trent Bridge.
136 to win seemed a simple target as Michael Lumb took guard with Nic Maddinson at the head of the Sixers' batting. However, sadly the Notts man scratched and struggled to pierce the infield and was easily caught by Voges close in off Dixon's bowling for 8. Riki Wessels also had a difficult time early in his innings at one point he'd scored 2 from 10 balls. Suddenly he burst into action with a couple of stunning reverse sweep 6s . His effort was curtailed just when he was looking good on 28 - run out going for a quick single . Captain Moises Henriques was out shortly after in a bizarre hit wicket incident, the home side's innings completely crumbled away and finished on a dismal 99 all out...their lowest ever T20/Big Bash score (and a competition record too). Henriques's back foot slipped on the dewy pitch and tapped a wicket as he was setting off for a run.
We had it all last night......jump cam....snog cam...music...dancing girls.....$1,000 prizes if you're photographed with a KFC bucket on your head.....illuminated stumps...interviewers on segways...miked up players......everything apart from some decent batting! Meanwhile Freddie Flintoff features again on Friday for Brisbane Heat , a TV poll made him ''Australia's most popular Englishman......''

Brisbane Heat's Chris Lynn topped scored with 48 as 164/8 was set against Melbourne Stars at the Gabba.
In what was to be the most thrilling conclusion to a BBL game this season to date, it was left to an injured Rob Quiney. batting down the order, to almost grab victory from the jaws of defeat and to ultimately fall an agonising one run short for the Stars.

27/12/14
A twenty from Michael Lumb but a nice 50 (from 33 balls) from Riki Wessels helped Sydney Sixers to 180/7 against Sydney Thunder.
With Mike Hussey and Jacques Kallis not firing it fell to Aidan Blizzard with 80* to drag Thunder close to their target but despite Blizzard's efforts, Thunder never got close, ending 16 runs short of Sixers.
26/12/14
A crushing Boxing Day win for Perth Scorchers over Melbourne Renegades by 35 runs thanks an unbeaten century from Michael Klinger (105).
23/12/14
Hales/Hilfenhaus v Lumb/Wessels
Hales 1 run and one dropped catch, tipping the ball over the rope for 6 (Lumb)
Hilfenhaus involved in several run outs of his team mates, but never faced a ball. Got carted in his opening spell and finished with 0/40.
Lumb kept the momentum of 10 per over going, made 44
Wessels backed Lumb up well in a fifty run partnership, 22.
Hobart Hurricanes v Sydney Sixers
Sixers won by 7 wickets
22/12/14
Adam Voges' Perth Scorchers were restricted to 146/7 by Adelaide Strikers at the WACA, Michael Klinger 49 but the game turned into the most competitive match of the series to date.
Strikers too lost wickets at a regular rate and only scrabbled to victory by 1 wicket off the penultimate ball, the previous ball sailing over mid-wicket for six (Zampa off Yasir Arafat). Brad Hodge 42
21/12/14
A commanding opening partnership between Mike Hussey (96) and Jacques Kallis (97*) propelled Sydney Thunder to 208/1 against Brisbane Heat. Heat in their chase lost early wickets but kept within touch of required rate until the loss of their 4th wicket, Chris Lynn 40, after which the remaining wickets fell like dominoes, 152 all out.
20/12/14
Alex Hales lasted just two ball before getting the bird; a duck caught behind off Jackson Bird, as Hobart Hurricanes blew their way to 190/5 (the last two overs going for 47 runs Darren Sammy 38* from 12 balls). Durham's John Hastings 3/24 from his quota.
Melbourne Stars' chase was rested on Cameron White as KP 1 and Dave Hussey 11 fell by the wayside as wickets trickled away. New Outlaws' signature Ben Hilfenhaus removing both KP and the dangerous Glen Maxwell 12 in his first spell. Once White was 5th out the innings fell away. Hurricanes breezing to a 52 run victory. Ben Hilfenhaus 4/27
19/12/14
Michael Lumb made 28 and Ed Cowan 4* as Sydney Sixers cruised to victory over Melbourne Renegades by 8 wickets, with Peter Siddle being carted for 29 off his 3 overs. Renegades had made just 154/7 at the SCG.
18/12/14
The annual antipodean festival of slogging started this year with a win for Adelaide Strikers against Melbourne Stars by eight wickets; a crushing defeat as there were 45 balls remaining.
Only imports: Luke Wright (45) and KP (66) made double figures for Stars (Dave Hussey 8), the result being a massively under par post of 148/7. Kane Richardson was able to open the bowling for the Strikers following his suspension earlier in the year.
With such a low total to chase it was surprising that Tim Ludeman managed to make as many as 92*, snatching the MOTM award, his fifty coming off only 18 balls, a BBL record..
