Pre-season friendly v Derbyshire 2015

Day Two

With the unearthly early start (for cricket in England) and the cloudy conditions, batting would have been difficult in a fully competitive match; as it was Notts found it challenging against the bowling of Footitt and Palladino, the later finding a number edges that carried to first slip. Several Nottinghamshire batsmen reached between 20 and 40 runs as Notts made 270 from their allocation of 60 overs, making it a useful practice.

Nottinghamshire, giving Fletcher and Gurney their first taste of English conditions in 2015, made inroads into the Derbyshire batting, both taking a couple of wickets.

When Derbyshire had used up all their overs they were 196/7.

The Director of Cricket has decided to hold "stand -out bowler of the pre-season so far", Jake Ball, back until day two of the warm-up game over the beginning of the long Easter weekend.

Day 1 XII

Greg Smith, Steven Mullaney, James Taylor, Chris Read, Sam Wood, Luke Wood, Will Gidman, Brett Hutton, Tom Keast, Anuj Dal, Andrew Carter, and Adam Tillcock.

Day One was a total wash-out and so Day Two is scheduled to start at 10.15 with a Gillette Cup style 60 overs per side work-out. Lunch at 12.45. tea at 4.15.
