The General Retires

Having not played a first team game since 2013, Paul Franks, The General, has decided that the end of this season is the time to retire from playing first team cricket.

Paul has been notably successful this season, firstly in doing his part in the development of three new first team regulars this season, namely; Wood, Hutton and Ball, ensuring that the players coming through are first team ready, but also in guiding the Second XI to SEC success, winning the final earlier this month a Radlett CC.

I'm sure that Franksy will remain part of the coaching staff at Trent Bridge for the foreseeable future, perhaps another two decades! I would bet that that is exactly what the the self-confessed Nottinghamshirarian -through-through would wish for.

Well done Paul, turn that page and start that new chapter in your career.

The General's Number Eight shirt number now passes to Stuart Broad, his regular International shirt number.
