Adam Wheater, Hampshire keeper and leading run scorer this season has gone on loan to his old club Essex for the rest of the season.

There's more to this story 'cos that doesn't make much sense from a Hampshire POV, a crazy deal.
BBC Sport 01/09
Hampshire director of cricket Giles White says the county will not stand in Adam Wheater's way should he wish to leave the club.
Wheater returned to former county Essex on Tuesday until the end of the season.
The wicketkeeper, 26, has fallen behind Lewis McManus as first choice behind the stumps this season for Hampshire, playing only as a top-order batsman.
"Adam wants to keep and bat," White said. "My understanding is he is looking elsewhere."
Wheater has been among Hampshire's top run-scorers in four-day cricket this season, but was allowed to return to Division Two leaders Essex for their three remaining County Championship matches, rather than assist his parent county's bid for survival in Division One.

"If I were to put my detective hat on, he's looking to find a club that will give him the chance to bat and keep wicket," White said.

Will Gidman has extended his loan stay at Kent for the rest of the season.

Yorkshire to Essex

Essex have bagged, Yorkshire's almost regular player Will Rhodes on loan for the rest of the season. Will Rhodes made his debut for the White Rose county in 2013 and has played regularly against Notts ever since. Rhodes has family connections to Hucknall and was born in Nottinghamshire.

Chris Silverwood, Essex supremo, has clearly used his contacts with his old county and Rhodes, it can be envisaged, could excel in Division 2.

Cricinfo:
Having enjoyed runs and wickets on his home championship debut for Kent Will Gidman, the on-loan Nottinghamshire all-rounder said: "To get those two second-innings wickets with a slightly older ball and just as Worcestershire were forming a decent partnership was really pleasing. On the whole I'm delighted with the way the bowling has gone since coming here.
"I got slightly lucky with the first wicket. The lad George Rhodes was playing really well, but he started batting way out of his crease and, when I bowled him a really full one, he ended up yorking himself. Then, against Daryl Mitchell, that was one that moved back up the him and hit him full in front.
"I'd have loved to have scored a hundred, but batting at No8 it's the last thing you're really expecting. I'm more thankful that 'Tredders', 'Colesy' and Mitch hung around as long as they did and, in the context of the match, formed some vital partnerships with me."

Yorkshire have recalled Josh Shaw from his loan spell at Gloucestershire, having taken 19 first class wickets for the Division 2 county. Even Yorkshire massive array of talent will be stretched by the England ODI call-ups.

16/05/16

Northants we be grateful that Jake Libby's loan was extended as he scored 81 today.

Libby loan extended for two more matches
14/05/16

Luke Fletcher loan ended at Derbyshire

Averages   8.5 with bat

with the ball 99-25-276-4-69.00

Not the figures to force his way into the Nottinghamshire Championship eleven but at under 3 rpo he should still have a role in the squad.

CLASH OF THE LOANED?

Following a poor game for both Northamptonshire and Jake Libby at Chelmsford, the Wantage Road club play host to no other than Derbyshire for their next Specsavers Div 2 game, starting 30/04.

The potential meeting of Notts' loaned players in opposition, will be something to keep an eye on.

Libs v Fletch

On another day where Notts’ opening frailties have been highlighted, a timely reminder from Wantage Road that Jake Libby is available to fulfil a role, should the boys in red desire – 102 against Derbyshire.  Luke Fletcher again putting in a good shift with the ball for the Sheep.

In a contrast to the exciting, see-saw draw at Trent Bridge, Northants and Derby played out a tame draw. Chesney Hughes helped himself to a ton whilst Jake Libby added a first class wicket to his career stats.

Fletcher Focus

Luke Fletcher opened the bowling at Derby on the first morning of the Championship game between Derbyshire and Glamorgan after Glamorgan won the toss.

Fletcher bowled 22 overs during an interrupted day's play but hasn't taken a wicket. Glamorgan 308/6

By the end of the Glamorgan first innings, Fletch had bowled 27-10-53-1

On the fourth day at Derby, the morning session saw Fletcher put in another shift with the ball and over the innings of the drawn match had figures of  10-2-18-1

Ireland to Hampshire

Hampshire have made a short term loan signing of Craig Young. Young has previously on Sussex's books. Hampshire are currently a few bowlers short of posse and declared that they would be using the loan system to cover their shortfall.

Nottinghamshire to Derbyshire

Has crowd favourite Luke Fletcher hit rock bottom? Struggling to get into the Notts First XI or even the squad, he has today gone on loan to Derbyshire for 5 games.

Last season he helped Surrey to promotion, with a brief loan spell there but that feat is unlikely to be repeated this season. Early season at Derby, could reward Fletch with wickets and hopefully he'll find enough form to allow us to see those Yorkers booming down at Trent Bridge in May/June in the T20. July will be the earliest that a Specsavers appearance at Trent Bridge would be possible.

In principle the more looks to be a good one, Derby get a Division One bowler, Fletch gets a chance to prove form and fitness at a higher level than the Seconds and can stay a home with young Freddie and his mum for much of the time. Notts potentially get a match ready Fletch for the T20 onslaught in May.

Go well Bulwell Bomber.

With Derbyshire's first game at Bristol 17/04/16, Fletcher joins Andy Carter in the squad. Also former Notts, Scott Elstone is currently injured.

In difficult circumstances, Fletch put in a good shift of 21 overs at Bristol in Gloucs' first innings, the hosts racking-up 563.

Fletcher 21-6-54-1
Goober 26-4-84-1

Nottinghamshire to Northamptonshire

Jake Libby will travel south to Wantage Road on a month's loan, potential playing championship games against Sussex, Essex, Derbyshire and Leicestershire. The D of C sees this as an opportunity for Libby to play at a higher level than in the Seconds and to return to Trent Bridge in May and be pushing for a First XI position.
On Northants debut, Libs made 42.

Hampshire to Somerset

Somerset have signed Hampshire’s Pakistani former International Yasir Arafat on a season’s long loan deal. Yasir holds a British passport and therefore will not count as an overseas player.

Yorkshire to Gloucestershire

20 year old Josh Shaw will play for the Bristol-based county for 2016, on a season long loan deal.

Middlesex to Glamorgan

Seam bowler Harry Podmore will be on loan at Glamorgan for the first 6 Championship games as cover for Ruaidhri Smith and Jack Murphy, both of which will be doing exams at university.
