Rain ruined any chance of play and the match was drawn
Day 2
As long as Jake Libby (57) and Will Fraine (86) remained at the crease, the fragile Notts second eleven batting was protected. Unfortunately Libby was out not long before lunch. After lunch the wicket conveyor belt started up 202-3 soon became 264-10 Steel 3-27 and Whitehead 4-53 doing the damage.
Notts were invited to follow-on.
Day 1
The Seconds welcomed the returned from injury and Derbyshire, of Mark Footitt but on a glorious day toiled as the visitors prospered in the warm sunshine. Scott Steel helped himself to a rapid century as Footitt sent down 17 overs whilst Ben Kitt managed one ball but took three catches. For Durham Liam Trevaskis just missed out on a ton and Brydon Carse scored a good 50.
Fraine and Libby were at the crease for Notts when stumps were drawn.

FALL OF WICKETS
FOW: 1-11 (CF Gibson, 3.5 ov)
Went up to the hutch to obtain a paper scorecard to find out they had none !!!!!!!!!!! C'mon Notts let's encourage members to attend Lady Bay not put them off, it was a healthy crowd of perhaps 25 at a push ? But, not all loyal supporters down there are switched on to the digital age and rely on the paper option instead, so to assume for 3 balls it's Connor Marshall bowling his leggies until you realise it's Patterson white instead is not ideal ?
ReplyDeleteFor a small investment, compared to the white elephant sitting on top of Radcliffe Road, so much could be done at Lady Bay to improve the match experience for both players and spectators of Notts CCC. But we all know, it's not about Notts CCC, it's only Trent Bridge the Venue that matters.
