  1. Lancashire's Second XI endured a tough day in the field against Nottinghamshire who declared 325-6, on the opening day of their Championship match.

The Red Rose then had a tricky session to survive at the close, which they did to reach end 14 without loss at Notts Sports Club.

The wickets were shared around the Lancs bowling attack, with Chris Sanders (2-106) and Ed Moulton (2-81) claiming two each.
Rob Lord (1-27) and Danny Lamb (1-34) also grabbed a wicket apiece, but Liam Patterson-White's 124 set Notts up for a big first innings total.

Patterson-White was well supported by Ben Slater (56) and Mitchell Todd (67) as the home side reached 325-6 before declaring.

Openers Owais Shah (3*) and Taylor Cornall (9*) battled through a nine-over spell to ensure that Lancashire return tomorrow with all 10 first innings wickets still in hand.

    1. Liam Patterson-White proved a class apart as he made a return to the Nottinghamshire Second XI for their three-day match against Lancashire.

The all-rounder, who made an immediate impact with the ball in his first two Specsavers County Championship games, showed his prowess with the bat by hitting 124 on the first day of the clash at Lady Bay.

Patterson-White enjoyed a 92-run stand for the second wicket with Ben Slater (56), before putting on 126 alongside Mitchell Todd (67).

The 19-year-old would ultimately fall to Ed Moulton, having hit 15 fours and one six during his stay at the crease, and Todd would follow two overs later.

This gave the next pairing of Saad Ashraf and Zak Chappell license to accelerate the scoring rate, Ashraf hitting 23 off 17 balls and Chappell scoring 15 from 8 before the declaration came.

In response to Nottinghamshire’s 325-6 declared, Lancashire survived the final nine overs of the day, former England international Owais Shah shepherding his side to stumps alongside Taylor Cornall.

  2. I was perturbed at the irresponsible batting of Budinger - he only seems to know one way of playing and it needs to be stressed to him that this will get him nowhere in any format of the Game. Liam Patterson-White's Innings seemd to demonstrate the 'chasm' between 2nd and 1st Division cricket and he too needs to really concentrate on heeding the advice of the Coaching staff - he has enormous potential but needs to accept guidance. A really positive day yesretrday down 'the Bay' - the Scoreboard, however, is fairly useless unless you are the other side of the Ground to the delapidated and quite disgraceful Pavilion. We could do with some better seats as well - it remains a poor Ground unworthy of Notts.
