  1. Hardly in the first flush of youth !
But will no doubt make the odd valuable contribution when his vast experience and appetite for the game come into play .
Not many 38 year olds get a TWO year contact

  2. Well he has certainly seen better days, as have our massive collection of various managers and coaches.
The fact that Mick has savaged the team with his selections for his new beloved Trent Rockets, has in some ways neccesitated the signing of someone such as Trego, who could well end up captaining the 50 over team.

Following the recent departures of both Luke Wood and Coughlan, the club are now crying out for one or two bowlers who can hurtle it down over 85mph.and hopefully can hold a bat as well. Will Mick and Co, be able to deliver?

  4. Could work . A felloe member and good friend very optimistic about this signing. I am more sceptical, but then maybe I am getting to be too negative ?

  5. Guess we had better forgive him for that dodgy catch in the T20 a few years back....

Sensible signing for the short term imo,Fact is we needed signings and in the absence of anyone younger we could do a lot worse than signing someone with a proven track record in the first division....

    1. Yes, Zangakkarra, you're possibly right. I'm not totally convinced by our strategy personally, but like Mark says above it's probably a case of needs must in certain circumstances with the DoCs direction over the TrentDeepPocketsRockets

  6. If experience and being after his best before date were needed in 2019, then that horse long shot out of the stable. Having said that, an experienced head was lacking on many occasions last season in all formats and Trego can hopefully plug some of those gaps in 2020.

    1. Yes, reading between the lines I also get the impression he's been brought in for his off field effect with the dressing room just as much as his performances which may be limited ? Who knows what PM has already decided with regard to this aspect. It's obviously too big a job for Mull on his own and we all know PM and the DoC sing from the same spreadsheet with their approach to handling players. So yes DG, after more consideration I think it probably is a good capture, although it doesn't say a lot about the mentality of some of the players already at the club.

  7. not much mention on social media today about Dan C and Harry G playing Bash today, a 2 ball duck for DC and 55 runs off HG
