Nottinghamshie CCC Proposed Governance Changes

PROPOSED GOVERNANCE CHANGES

Objective
To bring the club’s governance into line with the recommendations of the England & Wales Cricket Board and Sport England whist optimising the mix of skills, experience knowledge and diversity on the General Committee.
Summary of proposed changes
  • The General Committee of 12 would, at the conclusion of a transition period ending at the 2023 AGM, comprise eight people elected by the membership (currently all 12) and four appointed by a Nominations Panel.
  • The Nominations panel would comprise the Club Chair, one other serving member of the General Committee, two club members and one non-member. It would be responsible for ensuring an appropriate mix of skills, diversity and experience within the committee.
  • Each member of the General Committee would be allowed to serve a maximum of three three-year terms, with no age limit applied to candidates. Six years would be the maximum tenure as Chair.
  • 20 member signatures would be required to raise a motion at future Annual General Meetings, rising from one.

  1. Whole thing reminds me of "Animal Farm" not saying pigs are in control of our club !?

  2. They don't take any notice of the membership now, this just legalises it and gives them cart Blanche power to do what they want .

  4. ...as they currently do - the Members are content to leave matters in their hands and so get the Club and how it is run as a result of their own apathy.

  5. A busy day from the marketing department at Trent Bridge today:

receive an Email for voting on the above changes
receive also a link to the accounts and AGM related stuff
in the post I received voting information for the the Committee election
then I get yet another Email about The Hundred, is that the 4th one about discounted prices for members?
then a similar message on SM about the Hundred
and now a text (I can't remember receiving a text before on any matter) about the Hundred

Is this marketing or is there a whiff of desperation with regards to ticketing for the Hundred?

I know I'm not in their target audience, as defined elsewhere, so why are they hounding me?

  6. Yes, we have never been so "blessed" with them contacting us this regularly. Voting on Governance Changes seems to be on line only. Does this not disenfranchise some members ?

  7. Makes you laugh, they've done nothing but belittle their lifelong fans for years since this city franchise rubbish has mooted.they are desperate .loads of people saw England win the World Cup so they might get lucky with this mythical new audience ,but I doubt it.give em enough rope as they say.im no longer a member because of the attitude and scheduling towards long standing fans and the county championship.i urge you all with a mandate, to vote the proposed governance changes down.

  8. OPPOSE THE HUNDRED
OPPOSE THE CHANGES TO THE CONSTITUTION

  9. vote to reject the committee proposals

  10. Perhaps more to the point - can the Committee LEGALLY bring in a whole new Constitution without a vote to cancel the existing one? Ought it not to have brought forward specific amendments to existing Clauses?

  11. AND - is there anything in the various Reports re. the Radcliffe Road Stand extension that was SAID to have been stated at the 2019 that WASN'T STATED at the time?

  12. The minimal apparent interest in these really important Governance proposals is worrying - someone needs to ask whether the Club can LEGALLY seek to throw out the old Constitution and bring in this new one?
