A bit left "field", but I think Michael Field-Buss. Just such a great name. Also against Essex he did a Monty act by surviving the last hour against Essex at Trent Bridge with 9 wickets down to force a draw. Not sure who the other batsman was, maybe Tim ? That draw felt like a victory and a group of us togethern in the Radcliffe Road stand went from despair to elation. Was part of squad abd often team that won the Refuge Assurance Trophy in 1991.

ReplyDeleteYes, Johnno for me as well. Considered Derek Randall but his career was obviously mainly 70s and 80s although I went to a lot of away games in that 91 winning season Rich mentions and I'm pretty certain he opened the batting with Chris Broad. Yes, Rich, recall Mike Field-Buss, he was very economical with his bowling.
