Members DO NOT Need To Reserve Seating For Blast 2023

Dear Member

Blah, blah...

With tickets for the 2023 Vitality Blast shortly to go on-sale to non-members, we are contacting you in advance to provide information relating to the ticketing process.

Tickets going on sale earlier to the general public this year because sales were so disappointing in 2022

As you will be aware, we had previously requested that all attendees, including members, secured allocated seats for games in the 2022 edition of the Blast.

We ignored your protestations, because frankly, Lisa and her lacky know best!

This process was put in place to ensure that family groups were able to sit together, following challenges in that regard during the previous season of unrestricted attendances in 2019 – a year which saw record crowds attend our Blast fixtures.

We listened to our friends from West Bridgford and Gamston and they took precedence over the plebby members

Moving to reserved seating also allowed supporters to guarantee their preferred vantage point by booking in advance.

Unless someone else had already booked it

For complying with the process last summer, you have our sincere thanks.

But you had little choice unless you chose not to attend, which too many of you did and we were surprised by this. Michael needed an extra ginger beer because of the shock.

Having listened to feedback from members and supporters during the course of the year, we recognise that, for many of you, the freedom to choose your preferred seating location as you arrive at the ground – and the ability to move around the venue as you please during the match – forms a central part of your cricket-watching experience.

Lisa has ordered humble pie for all of her team, and Michael Temple gets a double portion, as he has just finished eating his hat.

With this in mind, together with the benefit of a season to assess the impact of the Blast’s amended place in the cricketing calendar, we have made the decision that unreserved seating is to return for each of our seven group stage fixtures during the 2023 season.

Meaning we don't want to be too embarrassed by low attendances, as the fixtures have been scheduled not with the paying spectators in mind (nor the players), and come too frequently over a too short a period of time with not enough weekend games, so that the season can continue to accommodate the competition members don't want in August.

A nice bit of classic spin from Pravda.
Yes, it may have suited some of the mob from Bread & Lard Island but it clearly didn’t suit the vast majority of the Hoi-Polloi
Indeed, the huge servings of humble pie dished out all round over last year’s debacle are not likely to be repeated on this Valentines Day tasting experience at Restaurant Six.

I argued direct with Michael Temple last year about the ludicrous requirement to book seats for Blast games so many weeks ( months even ?) in advance . I really ought to put his replies on here for everyone to read but will spare him the acute embarrassment! The decision last year must have cost NOTTS between £200,000 and £300,000 loss of income .
We didn't like the new system . So we didn't book . We stayed away ! Simple as that . People get paid £100,000 a year ( or more?) to get things hopelessly wrong !

Sometimes the lunatics are in charge of the asylum.
The advance seat requirement ruling was a perfect example .
Cock-Up syndrome. Are they actually admitting they got it wrong and it cost NOTTS dearly ?
    NO !

  6. Too little too late for me to rejoin. Me now pay at gate, maybe, now and then.
The decisive factor for me is massive gap re Notts at Trent Bridge, early August to late September.

  7. PS Any chance of me going to Test Match ended by revolting WPL "auction". Not being sexist, equally disgusted by men's one .

A lot would probably agree with you Rich on that point regarding fixtures. It’s absolutely appalling and I’m sure it will stop, some, loyal supporters from re-joining as. full Notts members.
I’m just ‘accepting’ it for want of a better phrase as I just cannot see anything changing, certainly in the next few years, anyway.
The one thing Ms.Pursestrings has done(at least to give her some credit where it’s due) is to keep Memberships pretty cheap compared to the majority of Counties.
I know it’s a different sport, but I was paying about £60 more around 1992 for a Forest season ticket than a full adults membership now which is £199
But I also fully accept that every game was guaranteed to be played and played at the club’s home ground being the City Ground.
Just wonder being a Test Match facility how long our memberships will continue to be roughly on a par with Derby & Leicester however ?

  9. My interest in membership renewal is zero. Unhappy with so much its difficult to pinpoint. Think the lack of Notts at the Bridge in August and the thought of Patel, Fletch fielding /bowling in the T20 top of the list.

  10. If the Bazball ethos is extended to the Championship, there could be little use for most of days threes and fours making the meagre weekend offering to supporters even less cost effective.

YES DAVE- if the new " bash every ball" approach is actually acted out in the coming seasons County 4 dayers then there will be some incredible stats produced . Could be massive scores and also many scores less than 100. But how many four day games will actually go into the fourth day ?
