Later this "summer" Nottinghamshire Outlaws will play Birmingham Bears, not Warwickshire
Bears, in the T20 Blast.

v Worcestershire Rapids NWT20 Blast at Trent Bridge
Outlaws paddle the wrong way against the Rapids
On a dank night Worcestershire Rapids beat Notts Not So Rapids by a convincing 24 runs in front of crowd of 6987.
James Taylor won the toss and inserted the opposition, preferring to chase with a Vera Duckworth threat for later in the evening. Despite a few rain droplets during the Worcestershire innings the threatened rain never arrived.

James Taylor; Who do you think you are?
The diminutive figure of Nottinghamshire Outlaws' new captain, James Taylor, carries the much publicised heritage of horsemanship with him. Understandably people see the link and the imagination isn’t stretched much when it is said that James’ career path could have been very different and that he might have followed in his father’s footsteps, or perhaps hoof marks, as a race jockey. However there is another line in James Taylor’s family tree that is equally interesting and more colossus in standing.

v Lancashire Lightning NW T20 Blast at Trent Bridge
All the Spills and Thrills return
Notts got off to a comfortable victory in the opening slap and tickle fixture. On the warmest night of the year a crowd of 10971 gathered.
From the Northants game, Siddle, Adams and Jaques were replaced by Mullaney, Gurney and making his baseball debut Sam Wood.
With Sky in attendance the wicket was in the middle of the square. However the boundary ropes were brought considerably in so a run fest was guaranteed. The giant inflatable NatWest pig hanging from The Fridge was however never in danger of being hit.

Day Four
NORTHANTS CRUMBLE UNDER PRESSURE FROM NOTTS
A remarkable day for Notts as they blasted 150 runs in just 18 overs and then bowled out the hapless Cobblers for 151 to run the win the match by an innings and 10 runs. The match being done and dusted shortly before five o’clock.
The heroes of the days were Riki Wessels, Peter Siddle and Ajmal Shahzad.

G'day
On Sunday 4th May I played for Central Coast Over 60s v. a strong Sydney representative Over 60s side. The venue was for me arguably the most picturesque non first class cricket venue I have had the privilege of seeing let alone playing at (Mandalong Country Field )

Fletcher on Gurney - the article
Seeing my team-mate Harry Gurney's name in the England ODI squad didn't surprise me at all but it goes to show that you don't always know where the future will lead. When he joined us from Leicestershire a couple of seasons ago he wasn't getting in their side for four-day cricket and I didn't really understand why we'd signed him, if I'm honest.
