Or might it spell the end of the "iconic" - for all the wrong reasons, Armitage Shanks ground, aka The Rose Bowl.
David Morgan's review of the English Domestic game suggests:
: To consider a domestic season from 2014 comprising 14 LV= County Championship, 10
Clydesdale Bank 50 over and 14 Friends Life t20 matches, with the 50 over and t20
competitions to include knockout stages from Quarter Final onwards.
18 counties, 2 divisions and 14 matches in the LV= ...................................... my Maths doesn't
quite add-up any suggestions how 9 counties can play each other twice but only play 14 games?
If it's to be only one match against certain counties, then the quality competition with a level
playing field in the championship is flawed or does Morgan expect turkeys to vote for Christmas
or are there two counties that are going to
expire naturally ? Kent, Hampshire, Leicestershire and Northants have all had their money
troubles of late but will any one or two of them take a hit for the remaining 16.
