At the mercy of the elements, losing the toss again and on a wicket that has been under the covers for two days and is starting to re-shoot, Notts' never-dependable top order struggled on the first day against Somerset. It took a fabulous fifty from skipper Read to rescue Notts as pea-shooter Peter Trego took 3/24.
Andre Adams is absent for this fixture due to illness.
Notts First Innings 93/6 at close
Chris Read 52 not out
Mr Extras 13
Steven Mullaney 10
Champions Lancashire lurched to 125/5 against the Bears in another rain shorten day at Liverpool. 46 for Karl Brown the best of the day.
Gloucestershire lost 6 wickets for 131 at Canterbury , 44 from Benny Howell the best.
With only 54 overs at Cardiff and 10 at Derby, the weather had the upper hand, especially down south, drought, what drought!!
Not always totally serious and by fans for the fans of Notts Outlaws and Nottinghamshire CCC. Why not contribute yourself; write a review, article, photographs, statistics or to have a whine. Contact methods are shown above. Publication does not necessarily mean agreement with comments, but if it makes just one person smile then it can't all be bad. No offence is ever intended, just a smile. Words are just opinions and not certified facts.
