Foxes slump at Canterbury.

On the second day of the game at Taunton, Somerset find themselves within 4 runs of where Durham were only the night before. As it now stands, Somerset are 27 runs of Durhams first innings score with 2 wickets left.

The highlight of the day was perhaps Nick Compton's quest to reach 1000 runs by the end of this month and after today's 64 he is still 67 short of his goal; Durham might argue that the best thing from today was their debutant, Jamie Harrison taking three wickets , but the quality of his scalps was somewhat second eleven; Suppiah (maybe not 2nd XI), Barrow and Craig Overton.

Day 1 at Liverpool saw Ashwell Prince score 121 not out out of 276/4 against Middlesex (without Steve Finn).

Warwickshire are already in pole position at the Oval after dismissing the home side for 223 and then closing on 106/1, Varun Chopra 59 not out.

In Division 2, Leicestershire continue to disappoint their supporters. Today at Canterbury being bowled out for 141, Matt Coles 5/41 and Charlie Shreck 3/51. Kent ended the day on 104/2, Brendan Nash 50 not out.

PM debuted, scored 9

David Wainwright claimed a five-fer at Chelmsfords as Essex were bowled out for 182, Sheep were 37/1 at stumps.

The new owners of Wantage Road had a successful day finishing the day 302/4, James Middlebrook 121 against Gloucs.

An unbeaten century from Sean Ervine (109*) gave the Hampshire innings some backbone as they were dismissed by Glamorgan at Southampton for 316. The Welsh closed on 13/0.
