Adam Voges was out caught by Monty Panesar off the bowling of James Anyon for seven but at the other end Riki Wessels was extending the Notts advantage and in the process extending his personal best highest score to 199 - until he was caught behind off the bowling of Australian Magoffin.
Notts lost more wickets in the chase for the final two batting points and fell short by 10 runs of the second losing Phillips and Adams in the process. With two "number elevens" in the eleven any lead over the current 81 will be a bonus.
Chris Read fell before lunch on 45, the lead 119, Harry Gurney lasted two balls leaving Andy Carter with a career best 17 not out.
Nottinghamshire First Innings 428
Riki Wessels 199
Alex Hales 80
Chris Read 45
Chris Nash 3/23
James Anyon 3/132
Test latest England at lunch 340/6 - KP out for 80, Strauss 125 not out
Not always totally serious and by fans for the fans of Notts Outlaws and Nottinghamshire CCC. Why not contribute yourself; write a review, article, photographs, statistics or to have a whine. Contact methods are shown above. Publication does not necessarily mean agreement with comments, but if it makes just one person smile then it can't all be bad. No offence is ever intended, just a smile. Words are just opinions and not certified facts.
