Riki wrestles the initiative for Notts

An opening stand of 171 by Alex Hales (80) and Riki Wessels (184 not out) catapulted Notts into pole position in the game at Hove on day 2.


Samit Patel (4/67) had earlier taken the last wicket of the Sussex first innings, Naved Arif for 28 to end the hosts on 309


The England trio of Lumb, Patel and Taylor all fell cheaply as Nash in particular extracted some bounce from the wicket.


At the close Notts had a lead of 11 runs with 6 wickets remaining.


Warwickshire marched to their expected victory score of 222 at the Oval for the loss of 5 wickets.


Chris Rogers played out the day at Liverpool, to thwart Lancashire, match drawn.




In the Trent Bridge Test, England ended the second day 111 behind WI's 370 but have 8 wickets in hand. Andrew Strauss 102 not out
