Friday

England crushed Afghanistan in the WCT20, 99* for Luke Wright, Alex Hales 31 England 196/5. Afghanistan had no way back once they were 26/8 and eventually mustered 80 all out; all the bowlers taking wickets in the 116 run win

Well done England! Outlaws round-up - Hales made 31 from 27 balls. Patel picked up 2 wickets. Swann got 2 wickets. Broad took 2 wickets.

Thursday

Despite his early return down-under, Adam Voges' run of mediocre four day cricket form continued where it had left off for Notts with his native Western Australia, in their opening Sheffield Shield match against NSW. Adam managed 44 and 4 in the 8 wicket defeat at the WACA.

At the PCA awards shindig last night, Nick Compton was made Player of the Year and Joe Root the Young Player of the Year. Stuart Broad was made Test Player of the Summer.

Despite being made PotY Compton didn't make the team of the year.

Team of the Year: Varun Chopra (Warwickshire), Chris Nash (Sussex), Ian Bell (Warwickshire), Steven Croft (Lancashire), Darren Stevens (Kent), Peter Trego (Somerset), Phil Mustard (Durham), Jeetan Patel (Warwickshire), Keith Barker (Warwickshire), Chris Wright (Warwickshire), Graham Onions (Warwickshire).

Copied as printed by the BBC - the number 11 is explaining a few things......................................

Wednesday

Chris Read was voted Notts Player of the Year 2012 at the annual Gala nosh-up.

England had another successful practice game before the WCT20 proper, this time beating Pakistan, defending a lowly 111 whilst resting Swanny.

Andy Carter extended his stay at Trent Bridge today, signing a new 3 year deal.

Tuesday

The usual suspects from Trent Bridge have been included in the England Test Squad for their tour of India, later this year.

Going - Stuart Broad, Graeme Swann and Samit Patel
Shadowing in the Development Squad will be James Taylor along with Gary Ballance, Yorkshire's and former Sheep's Zimbabwean!

Staying home is KP

Well done to Alex Hales for his 52 against Australia in the warm up WCT20 win for England.

Happy Birthday Luke Fletcher
