  1. This is where the importance of getting promoted to Div 1 cannot be overstated. Playing in the top division is seen as a MUST career move by any aspiring cricketer. Recruitment during the winter will now be, or should be, a very much easier task.

  2. It was Hutton's decision to leave not the club's. A surprising decision for, as I say, an aspiring cricketer who had just enjoyed the euphoria of promotion. Perhaps he thinks it's one step back for two steps forward in the future.
Stop Press ...... I see on social media an important announcement is about to be made by Notts!

  5. A shame about Hutton can only assume he will play in all 3 form for Northants. Realistically wouldn't get in ahead of Ball Broad Gurney

  6. Given that 4 of the 6 that have left the club for various reasons over the last couple of seasons were internationals,It shows the standard that any replacements need to be at.

The position of wicketkeeper is one that obviously needs filling . The question is do we go with Tom Moore's or perhaps look to sign Sam Billings. If as mentioned above it's true that Yorkshire are also in for him maybe the negotiations could be helped along if the now vacant captaincy was added to the deal.

We certainly need some batters and Tom Moore's showed that whilst he clearly has lots of talent he perhaps needs a little while longer before he can approach the high standards of his predecessor both as a keeper and batter..

  7. Not thrilled, although he was a member of the cup winning team.
Same outcome this season would represent a good signing.

  9. Box Office names don’t guarantee trophies in my opinion , settled squads with strong players do !! Maybe the franchise tournament will bring you the box Office players you crave ???

  10. Pleased that NOTTS have managed to get a replacement overseas player at short notice, hopefully Kraigg Brathwaite will score plenty of runs...

  11. 49 tests averaging 37, not the greatest, but stats do not always tell the full story, a la Mr. Pujara, so good luck to him in his 5 county games for us, let's just hope it's not another 4 day overseas de Kock up by the DoC - at least we've got someone in of some sort of test quality at short notice to hopefully shore up the batting

  12. Can't wait to see who Notts disappointing/injured/recalled early overseas player will be

  13. Will also be interesting to see how Billy Root does in "The Valleys. His First Class and T20 batting averages are a decent 30 and List A a very good 38. Picking teams is never easy, but there is a nagging feeling he should have been given a longer run in the side in his second season in particular
