The Final against our nearest and dearest rivals at the Kensington Oval.

Derbyshire were reduced to 57/6 but Palladino and Johnson double the score in 8 overs to close on 114.

A dominant Outlaws made light work of that target winning by 7 wickets and having 39 spare.

The Girdler will have a report on the Notts website later, no doubt.

Semi Final Sunday

In a low scoring encounter Sam Wood 2/19, Steven Mullaney 2/19 and Jacob Ball 2/8 limited the Vikings to 128/7
(Only scores coming from Tykes' twitter feed - cheers Neil)
Outlaws 89/4 after 15 overs.............. tense finish with Mullaney and Readie at the crease

Ryan Sidebottom then ran out the Skipper and in the next over came on to use his experience against his former team mates with the ball.

17 required from the last 12 balls.

Then Steven Mullaney steps up to the plate................... GAME OVER a flurry of boundaries sees Mull05 pass 50 and Outlaws win by 5 wickets, 7 balls to spare.

Sheep beat Bears in the other semi however despite losing to the same opposition 24 hours earlier.

Outlaws take on the Sheep next then in the final.

After yet another change to the itinerary, Nottinghamshire kicked off in Barbados at the 3Ws ground against Northamptonshire.

Squad (v Northants): Chris Read (captain), Michael Lumb, Alex Hales, Riki Wessels, James Taylor, Steven Mullaney, Sam Wood, Graeme White, Ajmal Shahzad, Jake Ball, Andy Carter and Harry Gurney.

A devastating opening from Andy Carter reduced the Steelbacks to 24/4

Northants 80 all out in the 18th over.

Next-up Yorkshire Vikings in the second semi-final of the Barbados Cup.

112 and 48 by David Hussey failed to stop Victoria losing to Tasmania by 111 runs.

Prior to Notts' Caribbean jaunt, 7 bowlers and Wayne Noon will be jetting off to Pretoria to a training facility laid on by former Notts bowler, Greg Smith, with the purpose of improving stamina. Lucky Luke Fletcher is one of the jet-setters - we look forward to seeing the new streamlined Luke for 2013 along with Andy Carter, Paul Franks, Ajmal Shahzad, Jake Ball, Brett Hutton and Graeme White.

In England the season commences with two friendlies at Trent Bridge, Northants on 1/2 April and Leicestershire 4/5 April.

08/01/1013 - a Derby friendly added, see below

I hope Mr Ellison has got a stock of beanie hats this year in the club shop!

Notts start the 2013 season proper with a visit from Middlesex
on 10 April.

The CB40 trip to the Netherlands has expected been diverted to Cornwall, Truro CC in fact.
