Hosiery Mills cop a penalty

The Nottinghamshire Cricket Board and the twelve member clubs of the Premier League have resolved the issues that threatened to disrupt the 2014 season.

At an Extraordinary General Meeting held at Trent Bridge last night, Interim Premier League Committee Chairman Tony Palfreman confirmed that Mansfield Hosiery Mills had agreed to a 50 point penalty for the coming season.
All fixtures will now proceed as planned with the season set to launch on Saturday 26 April.
The penalty results from concerns expressed by the clubs about how Mansfield reacted to disciplinary matters in the 2013 season. These concerns caused the majority of clubs to consider boycotting fixtures against Hosiery Mills.
Craig Buckingham, Chief Executive of Red Rock Partnership, was elected as Chairman of the Premier League Interim Committee which will continue to manage the League until the 2014 AGM in November when elections will be held for officers as usual.
Nottinghamshire veteran Basharat Hassan was also elected as the League’s Honorary President for a second successive season.

The draw and fixture details have been confirmed for the 2014 Nottinghamshire Club Twenty20 Competition.
The winner of the competition will progress through to the East Midlands regional rounds of the ECB National T20 cup and could ultimately fight their way through the national finals at Oval in September.  Nottinghamshire Premier League side Cuckney have twice reached the National Finals and they are the current holders of the Nottinghamshire Twenty20 Cup.
The Bassetlaw & District League and South Nottinghamshire Cricket League will each run a competition for their member clubs and the winner from each league will meet in a play-off fixture at Papplewick & Linby Cricket Club on Tuesday 15 July; the winner of this game will compete in the first round of the county competition.
Fixtures for rounds 1 & 2 of the county cup will all be held on Sunday 15 June at three separate venues; there will be two games at each venue in round 1, with the winners meeting the same day in round 2.  The three round 2 winners, plus the team which wins the feeder league play-off will progress to the county finals at Radcliffe-on-Trent on 27 July.
The draw for round is:
Caythorpe v Clifton Village (10.45 am)
West Indian Cavaliers v Kimberley Institute (2.00 pm)
These matches to be played at Caythorpe CC
Cuckney v Rolls Royce Leisure (10.45 am)
