v Durham Jets NWT20 Blast at Trent Bridge.

Wessels stars as Outlaws ground the Jets
Notts gained a welcome win defeating Durham by 15 runs on a cool windy day at Trent Bridge in front of 6,802 spectators.

Hales back from India replaced Greg Smith and debutant Darren Sammy replaced Will Gidman. Durham won the toss and inserted Notts on a used pitch.
Hales (7) after hitting Coughlin for 6 into Fox Road tried the same trick two balls later but was caught by Borthwick on the deep mid wicket ropes, 12 for 1. Brendan Taylor hit his first ball from Arshad for two but then perished next ball to a sharp caught and bowled chance, 18 for two. Patel struggled to get going at first, but Wessels was in a dominant mood and despite the relatively slowness of the pitch was finding the boundaries with regularity.
Notts were 45 for two after the batting power play. But by the tenth over had reached 81 for two; on target for a par score of 160. Wessels was playing brilliantly and hit a total of five sixes to take the game way from Durham. Patel playing a more stop/start innings got to 46 when he skied Coughlin to mid off. His valuable innings came off 39 balls with four fours and two sixes. Patel and Wessels had added exactly 100 in just 11 overs. Wessels perished in the next over; after hitting Jennings for six he was caught next ball low down at square leg by the burly Hastings. Wessels 67 came off just 41 balls an innings which also contained four fours. His innings deservedly won him the man of the match. James Taylor scored a run a ball seven before edging Arshad behind. The Durham seamer finishing with the best figures of the match with 4-0-19-2. Mullaney was run out for eight after having tried to steal a cheeky single to mid off having previously hitting Hastings for 6. Sammy got to 19 having also hit the Aussie for six, but Hastings got his revenge as Sammy perished at long leg. Notts closed on 175 for seven, a good score on a sluggish pitch with much credit going to Wessels.
Stoneman out off the ninth ball of the reply when being caught at deep mid wicket by Hales off Jake Ball.  Fletcher clearly lacking full fitness came on first change replacing Gurney at Radcliffe Road End and got Mustard (11) with his fifth ball caught at mid off by Samit Patel. MacLeod batting somewhat unorthodoxly added 47 with Collingwood, but Sammy got him caught at long leg by Fletcher as the Scotsman departed for 32. Next ball Sammy bowled Collingwood for 30, Durham 78 for four at halfway house. Off the first of the 14th over, Hastings skied to Wood at point as Mullaney picked up the wicket, 90 for five. Mullaney had bowled 3-0-13-1. Unfortunately his last over went for 22 as Pringle and Muchall tucked in. Gurney (Pavilion) and Fletcher (Radcliffe) returned and turned the screw sufficiently. Pringle after a 12-ball 25 was caught at cover as Fletcher picked his second wicket. Muchall remained 42 not out off 30 balls with four fours and one six as Durham closed on 160 for six. Sammy who enjoyed interacting with the crowd finished with 4-0-31-2 and Fletcher 3-0-29-2 but Gurney was the most economical with 4-0-26-0. Only two overs of spin were used as Patel and Wood bowled an over a piece.MAG
