Carter has now signed for our local rivals in Derby after turning down a Nottinghamshire contract. A prolonged series of injuries have hindered Andy's career to date, perhaps in a lower intensity-filled environment he might be given time to mend and produce the undoubted talent that he does possess. Unfortunately since making his debut in 2009, Carter has only played 21 First Class matches and has now fallen behind some of the young emerging talent at Trent Bridge.

Thank-you Andy for your efforts and the win against Worcestershire this season - heroic!  Good luck in trying to pip the likes of Ben Cotton on to the team sheet next season, in stead of Luke Wood and Luke Fletcher.
