Pushed into the extremities of the season and devalued, Specsavers Championship Division 2
With little quality to anticipate with the prospect of Division Two opposition, the fixtures have managed to offer little accessibilty to the working member/supporter in the coming season too. Perhaps a blessing then.
In order to accommodate the lesser competitions, much of the fixture list has games starting on a Monday as opposed to the promised Friday starts, where there is a couple of at Trent Bridge only. The autorities will crow that there is a floodlit game which in their eyes makes play accessible to working people in theory, but that round of games is little comfort for the total lack of weekend championship cricket beyond the middle of June at Trent Bridge.
Perhaps it's all deliberate to kill off memberships at counties so that there will be little objection to the City Franchise folly, now projected for 2020. Let's hope it's only an oversight be the blazered buffoons that run the game who have little understanding of the ordinary spectator, that may or may not have commitments and lives, that include employers and children to feed.
