So does this mean Peter Moores has even more cash to entice the necessary talent to Trent Bridge for next season?
Moores' shopping list must include for Division One
One opening batsman if not two
One number 3/4 batsman
Two opening bowlers with proven pace and/or a first change bowler that can bat at 7 and average 40 odd
One spinner that can hold a bat and bowl teams out on a 4th day wicket
Do you think Matt Carter could do the spinners job if given a full season in the CC ?
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't appear that the Notts hierarchy do, as his opportunities have been sparse. Considering the option to do away with the toss was to encourage more 4th day play and to bring spin back into play in England, Notts haven't really selected teams to try to take "advantage" away from home - TB is generally a spinners graveyard as we know but it was noticeable that when we had the chance to play a frontline spinner, cos we had one, in Imran Tahir in 2016, we used it. MC didn't get a sniff.
