Tough season, but.......2 quarter finals and div 1 status for 2019. Personally very disappointed and gutted to miss 3 months through my shoulder injury. Work starts for next season, owe the @TrentBridge fans lots of runs and looking forward to it.

Well, sounds like he is still talking a good game..........so let's just see. Has been a pretty decent county pro up until last years disaster season. In his mitigation, he did get injured just when he had struck a bit of form and batted early season when no one else was really contributing that much in the batting department either. It's risky giving a 34yo a three year contract on reported very good terms, but, I've not lost faith in him completely just yet.Next year he has to produce, plain and simple?
ReplyDeleteAgree on all points. I wonder at what stage next season if he does not produce he will be quietly and probably permanently (year 2 of a 3 year contract) dropped -possibly for Libby depending on what line up we produce. That said, of course, we can count on him as an "extra" player for 2019 as he was injured for much of 2018. Apply the same logic to Ball and, to an extent Broad, and combine with our new batters and a decent overseas player - perhaps we can be optimistic (or is it the Autumn sun getting to me?
