Notts v Leics on Sky
ReplyDeleteSurprising, but extremely welcome news. For the non disciples of MuirdokTV none of our home games were selected for SKY coverage. Our only game chosen was the washout at Old Trafford. We were, for whatever reason, not alone in this situation. Only OT, Edgbaston, Headingley the Ageas and the Kia Oval held televised games, not even our Headquarters namely Lords. Was this due to Furlough issues and/or not being Covid19 safe environments? Who knows as no explanation has ever been given. So, with no home crowd revenue a huge surprise we are chosen ahead of the Surrey V Kent game(unless they are showing this on a different SKY channel also?) Either way it will be a huge bonus to watch this, it being such a huge game and not have to rely on yet another game streamed and everyone pretending we're enjoying it in this format. Do hope SKY still allow TB to stream the game as per usual(They wouldn't for the OT washout) so everyone can still see our team triumph over the running Foxes to make another Finals Day
DeleteSky chose our game at Headingley not OT for coverage. None of the previous games shown on Sky have been live streamed for free by the counties.
ReplyDeleteYes, well pointed out. Correction our SKY televised game was the Headingley washout and not Old Trafford. Worst case scenario, I assume the audio will be transmitted through the BBC website in the same manner it was done before this years streaming so at least our supporters will be able to listen to the match unfold, assuming SKY do not alter their stance over the Qtr Finals and Finals Day.
DeleteAll the grounds Sky chose were interested in hosting pilots. I think Notts were probably due to open up on Oct 1 due to Six reopening on Sep 25, before the latest avenue of pleasure was closed off.
ReplyDeleteSKY streaming the women's T20 tonight on their Youtube channel
ReplyDeleteIf Sky stick to the broadcasting agreement, Notts won't be allowed to live stream. For those that don't have Sky and rely on the Tom Noddy live stream, you will know how somebody that watches 60 live days a season countrywide feels, when there not allowed to.
ReplyDeleteYes, very well said A46. Guess tomorrow would have been your 60th as it were. Suddenly somehow live streaming seems scant consolation. One positive, looks like our dear old Govt. are setting up another special forces task team to make elite sport safe again for us spectators. So let Footy take the brunt and presumably by next April its all ironed out nicely for Bonkers Boris to agree that socially distanced spectating inside County grounds is as safe as the sport of grouse shooting favoured by many of his cohorts(no doubt)
DeleteTotally agree, the Live Stream is poor fare BUT safety has to remain a far higher priority which, sadly, the Government has let us down over. The initial Lockdown came too late and the end of it too early - even a couple of weeks later at the end would have saved many hundreds of lives.
DeleteAs we see daily infection rates soaring and deaths increasing we have to accept that this is a virus with no known cure. We must hope and pray for a vaccine otherwise I see little cause for optimism. To see our cricket grounds standing empty is a great shame and it does seem that PERHAPS at least 1000 spectators could have been safely allowed in BUT the risks of travel etc. would still have been there.
The 'R' Rate has to brought back below 1 and preferably below 0.5.
