@TrentBridge Bloopers

08/03

Surrey Vikings still reign supreme a week later

01/03

Whilst all of below might possibly be true and calculated (brand erosion), it could also be due to the person running marketing, social media and the website at TrentBridge.co.uk , doesn't have a clue about cricket!!!

STAG CULL?

19/02

Just to hammer home the point, today an all out assault and an unashamed attempt to connect the unconnected:

Flogging it cheap, as we all suspected...

Become a member of what, Trent Rockets?

Of course you can't be a member of that franchise but the hosts are doing their worst to build a self-destructing connection between the parasite franchise and the cricket club.

If the intention isn't to confuse the unsuspecting, why use that particular weird font?

Meanwhile where are he attempts to sell tickets for the One Day Cup games at Welbeck and Grantham; games where Notts Outlaws are the home team?

15/02

Do you remember the Stag logo that still adorns the Notts Outlaws limited overs coloured kits?

Trent Bridge do when it comes to marketing replica kits for the coming season but not when it comes the banner on their website anymore. Is it that it's a well established brand and would prove too confusing when Trent Bridge try the market their Trent Rocket junk?

Trent Rockets gets a mention on Trent Bridge's Twitter profile too. By August will it be Trent Rockets @TrentBridge on the account rather than Nottinghamshire CCC @TrentBridge?

Why can't the cricket club have their own website and social media? Why are Notts the only county where this happens?

Yes it's a perennial gripe on this blog but it's probably more important this year than in any previous year with the ECB hell-bent on launching the Hundred this year and with media reports saying county fixture will be slashed to accommodate it, if necessary, owing to prolonged pandemic panic.

Are Trent Bridge deliberately looking to erode the Notts Outlaws brand (as well as the team)?

Try asking some of these questions at the Member AGM.

  1. Cricket is entering very dangerous waters, and in particular our beloved County Club

Business experience shows again and again that if you insult your customer base you are heading for ruin

Yes, seek and gain new customers, but never at the expense of your core support

Cricket is more than a business, but it IS a business

  2. There is a really good programme on Sky Sports cricket about the Hundred. Shame the fixtures aren't great time to go and watch. But will definitely be tuning in!
