One of the best things to happen last season in getting a fast tracked opportunity into the one day side due to a variety of circumstances and what a superb prospect he looked. I've heard he had to sign a short term pro contract on order he could actually play in RLODC games. Heard rumours he has a younger brother who is very promising also with the same first name, Fateh Ccomplished

  2. He seems a prospect. I saw him also for England U19 vs West Indies at Beckenham and he played a crucial role in a last wicket stand to win the game by one wicket. So it seems he can bat a bit too. Regarding the brother, it would be interesting to see if ECB rules would permit registering two players with identical names - if as you say Stonewall Jackson his brother has the same first name! It would be very difficult for the umpires to ensure bowler over limits in white ball games are adhered to if two identically named players were permitted

Big congrats to L.P.W. who now picks up the Notts most emerging pro award for last season. There's so many awards at the club it's almost harder NOT to win something ? Let's have an award for the cleanest set of whites or best haircut(Duckett's bleached razor sharp cut at the season start would surely win that award) and most injury prone player(Zak Chappell inherits this annual award from the clutches of Paul Coughlin). Seriously well done to Liam, a brilliant talent coming straight through the Academy system then the stiffs. My only criticism is why didn't Peter Moores play him earlier on a consistent basis when we were going through that horrific run.Can only assume he didn't want a young player brought up in that awful almost accepting defeat mentally which now seems a thing of distant past

  4. Shame that next season we are back in Division 2,But i guess that was where we deserved to be after a totally unmemorable 2019.

I do wonder though how it will affect any of Notts upcoming youngsters, Notts will want to be out of Div 2 asap and with that in mind i wonder if they might be tempted to sign another overseas player to try and ensure a swift return.

Having said that if Notts play as well next season as they did in 2021 you would like to think their stay would be a short one. Durham look to be one of the stronger teams in the second division, Worcestershire can always be trusted to give us a good game an Middlesex look to have some good younger players coming through.Notts though should not worry too much about their opposition, If the likes of Fletch and Paterson are on song not many will enjoy facing us.

Heard our DoC say the cricket committee gave the go ahead to sign a second overseas last year but the coaches decided to give the likes of LPW and Lyndon James an opportunity instead which proved the right option on the basis we were the rightful winners of the County Championship. I do wonder if we will sign a batsman however. This is on the basis we maynot have the services of Hameed for the foreseeable and 2 others squad members in Compton and Trego have both left us for different reasons. We seem to now have a production line of highly promising seam/spin bowlers coming through but appear a little light on batting personnel in terms of numbers in the squad at the present time in my opinion. Lord Sol Budinger is highly promising for the white ball format but would think he's miles away from a chance in the red ball outfit. With all this in mind had naturally assumed Sam North by NorthEast was being recruited after his loan spell with us. Assuming everyone stays fit and England keep Hales, Clarke and Duckett out in the wilderness don't think it will be a problem over the 3 formats but a long term injury coupled with International call ups may see us struggling. It will be interesting to see Calvin Harrison finally bat in 4 day cricket and whether he has the ability to bat say no 6 or 7 in the long term. He has looked promising with his limited opportunities albeit in the one day format
